So I took a chance on the version 2 not knowing what would happen. I purchased knowing Amazon’s easy return policy. Received filter. Washed it up in spring water. Threw in aquarium. *UPDATE* Customer service reached put to me and sent a replacement lid. Everything is now working great! Bought this to replace the first one. As soon as it arrived I plugged it an and it didn’t work. This pump version doesn’t have a solid plug connection so I moved it around and it turned on. I like to keep the water pump at Level 1 but for some reason every 20 seconds or so the pump will automatically turn to Level 3 for about 5 seconds then it goes back to Level 1. This pattern repeats over and over. I requested a return and swap for a new pump and the shipment arrived. I got to plug in the pump and it still has the SAME ISSUES as the one I previously received. ... show more

Not the same quality of the red plastic type this replaced. This is missing a top filter. The media is less. It is labeled Wonderfactory, but I'm convinced its a cheap knock off at a high price.

**Update** We received a replacement water pump the following day, and it is working just fine. I still think the original pump that came with the tank should have lasted more than a year. We just installed this water pump after the initial pump that came with the tank quit working. This must be a lemon, because it’s not working at all. ... show more
