I ordered this device for a slightly different reason than it is marketed for. I got it to put in my mailbox so I know when the mail has been delivered. My mailbox is hidden from view while I'm in the house. So a typical spring loaded device that pops up, or out, or whatever, wouldn't really work for me. I mounted the transmitter/detector to a piece of wood and placed the wood and transmitter deep into the back of the mailbox. When the postal employee opens the door to the mailbox, I get the alert in the house. The only issue with it is if the box is left open....then, every time a car goes by, or someone goes by walking their dog, I get an alert. If the postal carrier closes the door everything works as planned. The receiver is plugged into an outlet in the house that is about 30 feet away from the mailbox and has not missed an alert yet. The only things negative I can comment about the product would be that the transmitter does not appear to be waterproof in any way. There is an exposed micro-USB port (for use with an external battery source. This unit is not rechargeable). The battery door appears to have been designed without any thoughts as to waterproofing as well. The lens above sensor that shows red when something has been sensed is also somewhat of a loose fit in the casing, and I cannot imagine there is any waterproofing there as well. If I was going to use this as a motion sensor for a driveway or for a doorway, I would guess that the transmitter should be mounted in an area that is not subject to getting wet. If by a door, I'd probably want to mount the transmitter high, directly under the eave/soffit of the building to keep it away from rain. As it is, for my intended usage, the item works perfectly! I give it 5 stars.

This works better than I expected it to. Description says it will detect movement within 26 ft. in a 110° radius...and it does (in fact, for me it works out to 28 feet). I have the detector in an out-building and the signal gets back to the base unit about 100' away (with walls in between). Just a few observations: ⦁ The instructions say it will work with either a 5vDC (micro-USB) power supply (not included) OR 3 AAA batteries (included). I tested it with each type individually and it worked perfectly (I did not test with both power supplies at the same time because the instructions specifically said either/or...my preference would be to have the detector on 5vDC power AND have 3 batteries installed as a backup but I don't want to take a chance at ruining the unit by not following the instructions. ⦁ Both components (detector and receiver) are for indoors/out of the weather. ⦁ The 32 chimes are mostly similar to old-school cell phone ring tones. But there are a few that are similar to a doorbell (ding-dong) or a single chime. The default is similar to a siren. TIP: if you pass the tone you want, you don't have to go all the way through the 32 tones to get back to it. Just long-press the 'tone' button and it will reverse the order to cycle back the other way.

I found the instructions a bit unclear (and the usual tiny print!), but I was able to get this sensor and bell working after five minutes or so. I needed to know if our dog was getting out of bed at night as sometimes the old girl gets herself in trouble. I plugged the bell side in our bedroom and the sensor just around the corner from the dog bed. That way it senses her if she's traveling but not if she moves around in her bed. It's been very effective. I just have the sensor laying on the floor using the mounting piece as a kickstand so it looks up just a little. It's nice to have a selection of chimes, though there are a lot to go through. Also I didn't need it to be very loud so again it was nice to be able to select volume in 4 or 5 steps.

Super easy setup, no configuration worked straight out of the box. I used it in an aid for house training a new puppy. She took to a an out of the way spot and this helped alert when she would enter that area. A couple of alarms and catching her and redirecting to the outside and problem solved. After everything is AOK I'm going to redeploy for its intended use as an alert when somebody comes to our backdoor.

This unit is easy to install and set up. Put batteries in the transmitter Plug in the receiver and you are all set. The transmitter has a pretty good range In my case about 60 feet through walls. Overall, an easy-to-use monitor for entryways and other areas
