The thermometer works great. Probes are well made,steel sheathing. 4 probes give you the ability to learn your oven and its hot spots,calibration to what the thermostat ses,while knowing your product that's cooking's temp. The remote device works great. Just put the batteries in it and turn it on and it's communicating with the probes/base.

Somehow, I'm the steak griller (well all meat cooker) in our family. My husband either is deliberately burning or under cooking them so I'll do it, or he's missing the "men grill things" gene. We may never know. One of the issues I had was not wanting to stand next to the hot grill or pan trying to get the temp of the meat because it's HOT, and wishing I had a remote control thermometer for stuff baking in the oven so I didn't have to keep opening it to check the temp, extending the cooking time because I let all the heat out (junky old electric stove in a rental). When I came across this thermometer, I was was pleasantly surprised to see that it solves both of these issues. What I like: 1. **Wireless Convenience**: One of the coolest things about this thermometer is that it's wireless. I can monitor the temperature of my meat from anywhere within range, which is super handy when I'm busy doing other stuff while grilling. 2. **Dual Meat Probes**: The fact that it comes with two probes is awesome. Now I can keep an eye on the temperature of two different cuts of meat at the same time. Perfect for my medium steak and his medium rare steak. 3. **Kitchen Timer Feature**: This thermometer also doubles as a kitchen timer, which is really useful for keeping track of cooking times. This is a BIG DEAL because I can never get the timers on stoves to work. They are not intuitive for a brilliant mind like mine 😏 4. **Easy to Use**: Setting it up was a breeze. Just stick the probes in the meat, turn on the receiver, and you're good to go. Even the technologically challenged could figure it out! Cons: 1. **Range Limitation**: This is really dependent upon your device and the type of house you live in. My Bluetooth range on my android phone is about 300 ft which is excellent. However, if I for some reason went into the back room of the house while cooking (unlikely) because it's a house built in 1957, the Bluetooth signal would struggle. 2. **Durability Concerns**: I've only had it for a few weeks, but I wonder how long it will last, especially being exposed to high temps. But it says it can withstand heat far hotter than my basic junky oven could ever dream to reach, so I have high hopes it will be fine. 3. **Temperature Accuracy**: I've noticed that the temperature readings can sometimes be a little off, especially if the probes aren't inserted perfectly. So that's more of a user error than an issue with the thermometer. I'd imagine this would be true of every thermometer like this. So be attentive and you should be fine. Overall, I'd say this is a pretty solid choice for grillers and smokers alike. It has a lot of great features especially for the price, you really can't beat it.

We've been trying so many wireless thermometers. There's so many fancy bluetooth ones that are constantly failing, had one that connected to our wifi so it could send me updates even when I'm not in bluetooth range, and now we get weird junkmail (thermometer died immediately, so no paper trail I guess) This one has easily been the best. While it would be nice if this could send me mobile updates, the remote unit is so practical that I'm okay without it. The temperature is accurate from my tests, and the layout takes a little work to understand, but once you get it, you're good to go. We actually don't cook meat all that much, believe it or not. We're a family of bakers. Our oven isn't the best so we've gotten good at taking the temps of our baked goods instead of guessing, and having multiple probes in different spots in our breads and loaves have been lifesavers. The range is great, it seems to even get upstairs to my office just fine, so for my late work nights that I'm baking my sourdough it's easy enough to keep an eye on it. I think my only complaint at all would be the use of batteries, I'd have preferred something rechargeable, but we do have rechargeable batteries anyway so it's not too big a deal. No clue how long the batteries last though, so far so good.
