You download the PROBE TEMP app. Then launch the app and follow this instructions for connecting. Took 20 seconds. You can select the type of meat you are cooking and it will reference the preset temperature depending on the type of meat you prefer, which you can increase or decrease according to your liking. Then you just wait for the alarm to sound once it gets to temperature. I have used this several times and so far it works as expected. The manufacturer offers a 1-Year Warranty on this product. This item is pretty pricey- but man is it REALLY nice to have. If you have someone that is in to smoking or grilling, you absolutely have to check this out. Setup was SUPER easy. Download the app, connect the device, and you're literally ready to go! For our first trial, we decided to smoke an oven ready turkey breast. You actually pop that bad boy right in the smoker from being frozen, so we didn't start the process with the probe in the meat. We selected that we were going to make a turkey from the app, and the app really does most of the work for you! It has the safe recommended target temps for all the various donenesses of meat. For example, we did NOT want our turkey rare, so we selected well done turkey and it automatically knew when the turkey had reached that temperature and rang the notification sound. The app is REALLY easy to use. This isn't really a NEED to have, but it's really really NICE to have. My husband works 3rd shift, which means he'll sometimes start something on the smoker and then head to bed. He used to have to set an alarm every hour or so to run down and check the smoker. This allows him to just roll over and glance at his phone and see what the temp is. That's amazing! We double checked the accuracy with two different meat thermometers and it's spot on. This might be a bit of a splurge, but it's really worth it!

I love the convenience of this, a little different having an app on my phone I'd rather a display that reads temp but over all a good design. The dock is neat however I don't like that it don't turn off and basically have to plug it on for 10 mins first to use and I don't always remember things like that especially when cooking and need it.

I'm fairly new to the cook-out world, but I am getting better! I can't exactly get medium rare steaks yet without trial and error... but Im getting close! I was excited to get a hold of this wireless meat thermometer, not only for the convenience, but also for the medium rare steaks! The unit is rechargeable - so no batteries. Its good to keep it always charged up, you never know when the need to grill out might hit you! The instructions say you only need to charge for 5 - 10 minutes... but that depends on if you are doing a quick cook or smoking for several hours. I prefer to charge it all the way up. This device also comes with an app for iPhone or Android, and it is free to download. It was super easy to get that going. Sometimes these small dwevices are unable to connect (or lose connection). However, the moment I opened the app it immediately found the probe via bluetooth. Select it and boom - I was ready to go! Literally less than two minutes. I included pictures of the app for review. In the app, you can select the typ of food you are cooking and it will preset the temperature. When it hits the threshold - it will alarm you. The distance is great - I walked all around my backyard and had no problems with it dropping signal. Once you are done, clean off the probe and put it right back in its bamboo holder, where it charges. I love the fact that this is wireless. Plug the probe into the meat, close the grill, and make sure the app is open on your phone - that is all there is to it. Highly recommend!! OH SO!! Perfect design App and device worked seamlessly Temperature was accurate - a salmon was perfectly cooked on my grill

Didn’t want to ruin a full prime rib and I wanted to test this wireless thermometer. They app downloaded easily and connected immediately to the probe once it was on. I placed this one 1 inch away from my (old faithful) Thermoworks wired probe. After a few hours, the alert on my Thermoworks went off (I preset a temperature). The eboboin wireless thermometer read 3 degrees less. No telling which was exact but we had a perfectly cooked (rare in the middle and medium rare to the edges) prime rib. Happy with this because I am able to immediate see the temperature from anywhere.
