This is a professional quality 18-8 SS braizing pan with cover. It has a 5mm roughly 1/4 " bottom for even heat distribution. I have never spent this much money on a pan, but it's worth it. It can go from stove to the oven. I was lookin at the Le Creuset enamaled cast iron, that is extremely expensive, and the reviews mention it chips easily. I came across this pan, which is exactly what I was looking for. I first used it Thanksgiving. It doesn't have a rack so I rolled up tin foil and strategically placed it under the turkey. Last night I cooked 2 lbs. of Italian sausage and had plenty of room to fry meatballs with them. I got a couple of the burn marks from frying the sausage. I then added my tomato paste, and after cooking it for a bit I added water and the marks all dissolved. This pan is bigger than my large coil burner, but the sausages browned in the entire 15" diameter. Then I simmered my sauce with the lid tilted, and I had to turn my burner down to 1. This is a very well made pan. I can’t stand very long, so when browning stew meat, stroganoff, meatballs, chili etc., it is perfect. I also tend to make large batches of those things, for family dinners. Very happy with my purchase.

This was sold to me in like new condition, with some damage to the packaging. As you can see from the pictures there is damage to the item itself. I am asking for a 50% refund on the purchase, as I feel that is fair.
