I've been interested in buying a smart lock that could be controlled by Alexa for quite a while, but was nervous buying this lock since there were no reviews. Called customer service and learned it was a new model, just being released, and I decided to try it. I'm really glad I did. The physical install took only 20 minutes or so. Bluetooth linkup took less than a minute. Wifi link (thru the included gateway) took me forever, but that was mostly my fault and now easily avoided - see below. (Still- the directions in the gateway box or TINY, almost impossible to read and enlarging them would be an easy improvement) I had several "hopes" for this lock, and it met all of them: - I wanted Alexa to be able to open AND CLOSE this lock as part of my nightly "going to bed" scene. It works perfectly and confirms that the lock is closed or if blocked, still open. - I wanted to use the "Tuya Smart Life" app since I have it for many other smart devices - it works well. (This is where my wifi (gateway) install problem occurred. I didn't realize that all I had to do was add the tiny wifi gateway as a device under the category of "gateway control". (I never noticed before- you have to scroll down the page of many different types of add-ons) and it linked and locked onto the lock within seconds.) - It allows many passwords of different types (temporary, permanent, random, etc). - it allows 100 fingerprints! - It is very nice looking, smaller than another lock I have. - It can be controlled from my phone if I am away - It keeps a log in the app of who and when entries were made on the keypad. (It also notes when someone manually locks or unlocks it from inside. Observations- - There are several sound options for keypad beeps etc- I started with that turned off, but found "low" works better. That way you can tell if the first number was accepted (or just woke up the lock). Also, the keypad seems sensitive, so the beeps will tell you if you hit a number 2x. - Passwords must be at least 6 numbers long (that appears to be a Tuya app requirement) - The gateway: - needs to be pretty close to the lock. Mine is under a table about 7 feet away. - is very small, black, and easily concealed. - does not include a power block This lock includes the gateway, is good looking, works great with Alexa, and has more features and methods of access (physical keys, digital keys, passwords, fingerprints) than I could ever use. I will probably buy another when I redo another entry. If any problems develop I will try to update this review, but bottom line is: at this price, I'm really happy. It's a great deal.

The lock was very easy to install and looks great. The electronic key can be set for multiple locks for ease of access. I haven’t set up the lock to Alexa yet. I am able to set passcodes from my phone and was able to set my fingerprint which helps decrease what I need when I leave the house each day. 10/10 would recommend.

This was easy to install and add to the app. However, could not add another admin user so I am the only one who can unlock and lock remotely. Which, is not always convenient. But, my other admin can add a temporary code remotely so that’s the work around. It took hours for us to try to add another admin only to find out you really cannot. I guess because of security. It was easy to add fingerprints and temporary codes. So, it works great for that. The keys work as well. But, couldn’t get the tags to work. Not a deal breaker since the other methods work just fine. For the price, you can’t beat it and the remote functionality is awesome! I works definitely recommend just be aware of the limitations of the app remote unlocking feature.

The lock work well. I am loving it so far. It is definitely worth the value. It is easy to install , connect to the app and gate way, all you need to do is read and follow instructions. I love the key cards! Shout out to the product support team, they were really helpful to help me figure out why my lock dead bolt wasn't working, it was because I set the direction wrong on the app.

Revised Review: I'm not sure what happened with the lock. Possibly it was an aberration with some of the hardware. What's important here is that customer service reached out and promptly corrected the issue. This means a lot as customer service has basically went out of the window with a majority of companies in this era. Thank you for correcting. Original Review: As a construction project manager, I spend 11 hours a day dealing with construction issues. My time is valuable and I spent 2 hours with operation failed error after error. Connection to app was flawless. Door tolerances flawless, but the lock just caused me to waste valuable time with my family. Horrible quality control or as they pushed out a defective product and then I have to spend even more of my personal time to package the product to get a refund. I'm disappointed more than anything and understand things happen but this was highly frustrating.

BEWARE !! Install is a breeze , untill you get to the app and the hookups to Alexa, their techs and their apps aren't all on the same page and are not paying attention to what you are asking about the product. Couldn't hook up to Alexa or they couldn't tell me how to add other persons to my app. Tech's all three wanted me to download a different app. To make it work . What a Nightmare !! Bought this one and another one for front door. After such a run around never even attempted to install the other one. Sent them both back and bought an American brand and never had one bit of problem with install or app or Bluetooth or with Alexa. Had both new ones installed and working within 45 minutes on each one. THANK GOODNESS ! I , being pretty tech savvy, no one should have a Nightmare installing one of these. Buyer Beware !!!

I bought 12 locks as I am a handy man and install keyless lock on the side and this hornbill finger print lock is amazing, I did have to call technical support because I was trying to set up two locks with one gateway and it gave me some trouble but the tec support person Eunice was so talented tat she had me reset and get my gateway setup in a matter of Minutes nd both of my locks were working perfectly.
