I bought these to replace industrial lamp lightbulb covers that were lovely, but I was not a fan of looking at bare bulbs on a floor lamp. These provide enough diffusion of the light to be pleasant to have in your peripheral vision while still letting lots of light through. Installation was easy, and they fit great. I measured before ordering to ensure they would fit on the lamp. The opening to attach the cover to the lamp is approximately 1.25-1.5 inches in diameter. The bottom opening is approximately 3 inches in diameter. It was a little tight getting the lightbulb screwed back on, but I managed okay (my hands are on the larger side). Also, good quality for the price. Good value. Also, I have Edison bulbs, so it looks more cool light in the photo rather than the warm light it looks like in person. ... show more

We bought a house that needed some refreshing. The vanity glass was an ugly yellow that looked tobacco stained. These did the trick of updating without having the expense of drywall and paint repair that would have been needed with a wholesale change. . I recommend ordering more than you need because the hole that allows for the socket is not consistently 1 1/2”. I had 2 out of 21 not work due to a smaller hole. ... show more

I switched out my dated looking "bell shaped" shades for these modern ones and it totally changed the look without having to replace the light fixture. Unless you have really tiny hands, I recommend purchasing a "socket ring tool" to remove and replace the plastic ring that holds the shade on. It's a very narrow opening to get your hand up into to screw the plastic ring off and on. ... show more
