It's just great for various moods you might be in. Beautiful galaxy clouds and any changeable color you might wish that day! It does run independent of grid electricity on a battery but you have to charge each time you use it or plug it up to a 5-volt USB-A dongle at about 5- hours in if you wish to run steady state for more than 5-6 hours. Note: Let the device run off charge most of the time. Leaving it plugged in shortens the life of the battery immensly. My only reason for knocking one star off is the remote control! It's REALLY BAD! As you can see from the picture above, the control panel cover isn't even on the body of the control properly, it's bowing upwards after a bit. The remote is hit-or-miss, you have to hit the desired button over and over again until you get a reaction out of it. There is no mention of where the infrared sensor on the ball is and when placed in the stand with the charging port face down the remote doesn't work well at all. That is the logical way to have it too! If that's where the pickup is on the bottom down by the charging port, that's simply not the place to have it! Then the way you select colors...push the button you want directly and NOTHING happens! First you have to push one of the R-G-B buttons on the top then the color you want in that column...ILLOGICAL! Lastly this remote runs on a CR2023 penny sized battery? What? That's gonna go dead quick! You can't easily open the drawer to change it either, I still haven't figured that out yet! . Overall, a nice product you will enjoy except for the poorly executed remote! I sure like it! ... show more
