I got the 12.8" lamp with the white lampshade. I put in a 9W LED (60w equivalent) bulb and the material distributes the very bright light evenly so there's not a bright spot in the middle where the bulb is, as shown in the pictures with the cream colored shade. It has a small, but sturdy base so it won't fall over if lightly bumped. With the switch on the cord I don't have to reach up under the shade to turn the light on and off. I highly recommend a LED bulb because I think even a low wattage incandescent bulb would create enough heat inside the lampshade to scorch it, and possibly be a fire hazard. The description says up to 60W incandescent, but I wouldn't risk putting in a bulb that gets as hot as one of those in such a small lampshade. ... show more
