Description

Whirlpool WHESFC Pro Series – Softener/Whole Home Filter Hybrid, Gray Whirlpool Hybrid Water Softener + Whole House Filtration System — Better water for you and your home starts here. The Whirlpool WHESFC Pro Series is the ideal 2-in-1 home water solution. This multi-tasking system was created so your water is not only soft but healthy and safe from potentially harmful contaminants. Demand-Initiated Regeneration Technology Demand-initiated regeneration technology helps reduce unnecessary salt use, minimizing the need to purchase replacement water softener salt for your system. This system regenerates soft water for your home as you need it, not on an every day timer like older water softeners. 6th Sense Technology6th sense technology makes your salt and water-use more efficient, reducing the amount of waste your water softener creates. This hybrid softener and filtration system will automatically calculate how much salt is needed to clean its media bed. Older models use the same amount every time even though your water use may fluctuate daily. What Does NSF Certified Mean? The National Sanitation Federation (NSF) is a public health organization. They offer NSF Certifications for products that comply with the strict standards and procedures imposed by the organization to ensure products are safe for individuals. The Whirlpool WHESFC Pro Series reduces dangerous contaminants in your home’s water, as well as sediment and chlorine which impact the smell and taste of your water. What’s Included? This Whirlpool WHESFC Water Softener/Filtration system comes with everything you need for a quick installation. Along with the single tank, your order includes a bypass valve, drain hose, 2 clips, 2 installation adaptors, 2 hose clamps, an adaptor elbow, a grommet and 4 O-rings. NOTE: Due to variances in production and assembly, the water softener valve height may vary by up to 1/2" from an existing water treatment system, including existing Whirlpool models. This potential change in valve height will not affect system performance. Product color may vary from photo color. Whirlpool WHELJ1 Central Water Filtration System, White Whirlpool — Whole Home Central Water Filtration System Never Replace A Water Filter Again The Whirlpool Central Water Filtration System utilizes a special sediment screen to remove contaminants from your water. It works together with a media bed to filter particles to 40 microns — half the diameter of human hair. The internal sediment screen flushes automatically every 14 days and the sediments will wash away with the water while it drains. Certified to Reduce Contaminants The National Sanitation Federation (NSF) has determined a standard for products that are made to produce better home water. The WHELJ1 Central Water Filtration System was tested and passed, earning its NSF Certified label. This certification proves the system reduces dangerous contaminants that are commonly found in home water such as sediment and chemicals that cause foul chlorine taste and odor. What’s Included? The WHELJ1 system comes complete with a bypass valve, drain hose, 3 clips (1 spare), 2 hose clamps, adapter elbow and a grommet. The installation manual is also included in your purchase.

  • Simple Unit Produces Water That Won’t Stain and Tastes Great!
Style: Filter
This water softener is a no brainer for the price. My family of four lives in a three story four bedroom three bathroom Dutch colonial, and the water quality is noticeably better immediately upon installation. Our dishes and glasses used to come out of the wash with white stains on them from all the mineral deposits, but they are crystal clear now with the WHEFSC Pro Series installed. The whole house filtration function is a great bonus at this price. I really enjoy drinking water straight from the tap. It’s immaculately clear and has a noticeably improved taste. Install was a breeze with PEX. Just be sure to install it on your main line into the house, downstream of the outdoor split but upstream of the water heater. Programming was extremely simple as well. One thing to note, Whirlpool wants you to run a recharge with 6TBSP of bleach prior to use. This takes about two hours, and then you need to keep a faucet open for thirty more minutes to run out any residual bleach. I wasn’t thrilled with this process and had to keep the family away from the water for 2.5 hrs. However, beyond that minor setup quirk, the unit is exceeding expectations! I would say as far as value goes, you cannot go wrong with this softener/filter. ... show more

  • No whole house filter
Style: Filter
Ok, product info says whole house filter, not one in site. Unit has screen just like all water softeners. Other wise is just great. Im looking for some refund as false advertising.

  • Nothing not to like
Style: Filter
This was a very easy install, I would recommend getting SharkBite hoses to make it even easier. This unit has "standard" water softener connectors, which are weird pressure connectors with clips. But this unit also includes adapters to 1" NPT. The Sharkbite hose can go from any pipe to 1" NPT, and the Whirlpool bypass valve and connection to the unit were easy and worked great. Keep in mind that with Sharkbite you generally only get one bite of the pipe so be sure the pipe is good and clean and where you want it before installing. The softener works well and the water is obviously soft right away. I didn't test the actual level yet, but will do so when everything has had a chance to settle in the pipes and fixtures. My hot water tanks even started to "clean" as they poured out rusty water for a while. Apparently that will happen as the softer water slowly breaks down old buildup. The design of this unit is tried and true. It is 90% the same as the 20 year old unit I was replacing. Same parts, same procedures. This unit has upgrades that my old unit didn't have, better/clearer electronics, etc but is generally a simple device. I bet almost all of the cost for this unit is for the brine tank, which does all the softening and filtering. The only thing I was missing was a way to read the Gallons Per Day usage. The unit knows how much water is being used and my old unit allowed you to check, which was an easy way to know if there was a leak somewhere in the house. But this unit has no way to read this, that I know of. I never installed one of these before so I followed the directions exactly, and they were mostly good. The biggest issue was the section on sanitizing with bleach. The directions tell you to add salt and do some other things, then there is the bleach section, implying that is the next step. But after I did this, all of the salt smelled of bleach and needed a few regens to get rid of. I think a better way would be to only sanitize when empty of salt, but I am still not sure which is correct. Regardless, there was never enough bleach to smell anything in any faucet, since the brine is such a small portion of the water that ends up there, and the unit filters bleach anyway. For the price it really can't be beat. Any place near me with the fancier softeners was several thousands to buy/install. And when all you are doing is making salty water, simple is better. ... show more

  • Perfect Kenmore replacement
Style: Filter
My 20 year old Kenmore water softener gave up the ghost so I replaced it with this Whirlpool unit. The Amazon truck driver delivered it to my garage. It was VERY well packaged. I had my doubts about getting a 117# softener safely delivered by Amazon but it went perfectly. Double boxed and strapped. The inner tank was foam blocked so that the resin tank wouldn't shift around. All parts were there. 5 stars to Whirlpool. Ordered on a Saturday, delivered Monday morning. Can't beat that. The unit married up to my existing bypass valve from 20 years ago. Height and spacing was identical to the old unit. The new bypass valve is an exact copy of the older Kenmore valve. The only mod I had to make was to the discharge fitting. The unit comes with a 3/8 in. right angle tubing barb. My old unit has a 3/4 in. male hose fitting. I just pulled the retaining clip, removed the tubing barb and set in the old hose fitting. There is a 2 GPM inner reduction nozzle that was reused also. Following the setup instructions went smoothly. I did a tank flush for 5 mins to clean out any carbon fines. Loaded up a bag of potassium chloride and buttoned it up. Nice soft water again, Disposing of the old softener is going to be more difficult. But I have a plan. ... show more

  • just buy it...
Style: Filter
I , too, hate buying things like water softeners and potholders. If I can't wear it or eat it I am usually opposed to spending money on it. Particularly something like a water softener , that I cant even see. I researched any which way that I could...attempting to buy a comparable product at a lower price ... and nothing else made sense other than this particular unit. It has great reviews, it has a filter that is self cleaning .. saving us from having to purchase a second house filtering unit, it arrived within a couple of days , was easy to install , and now our well water is clear and odor free. ... show more

  • Well worth it
Style: Filter
Very easy install. Hardest part was cutting into the water supply and that was pretty easy. The power supply was damaged on mine (rough shipping). I ordered a new one through their web site (which links to Amazon) but beware that Whirlpool changed from alternating current to direct current at some point and i received the wrong one. Check your existing power supply for VAC or VDC and compare to replacement part. The filter and water conditioning are great. Showers are much improved and we no longer get buildup around fixtures and in toilets. ... show more
