Very nice product. Please understand that a 42" with only 3 blades is for a small room, so you cannot expect a huge airflow. That you will get from a 55" 5 blade fan. It is well made and it has a contemporary look. In my opinion is nicer than anything I found at the local stores even for twice the money. Like most fans today, it comes with a LED light (only 2 bulbs of 60 watts equivalency) so again, it is made for a small room. so if you need more light, you may want to change the bulbs. Unfortunately, the canopy does not allow for a remote control kit, nor are the included Westinghouse t7 LED bulbs dimmable; hence, my lower value rating. Once installed, these work silently and smoothly. I bought 4 of them and installed them with the help of my father-in-law, who has done this many times before. They replaced some existing (ugly) ceiling fans, so I didn’t have to worry about making sure the electrical box could support the weight. If this is the case for you, then the process was simple enough that you can do it after watching a few YouTube “how-to” videos. Just a word of warning: make sure you have a wide variety of bolts to attach the fan to the electrical box. I had to make 2 trips to the hardware store because the house had 3 different types of electrical boxes. They do not come with remotes, but I bought generic remotes and they work perfectly. The fan blades did not need to be balanced. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase and I would buy them again. ... show more

One of the fans unfortunately has developed a consistent scraping sound quite quickly and will need replacement as that is a rather loud noise and is definitely enough to be distracting. I tried to call and was told I only 30 days to return it! I can't find the part number to butly the glass shade and it's been frustrating to say the least.
