I’ve had my fan mounted for 2 months now. Worked great until blades randomly broke. Thought someone was breaking into my house at 5am this morning. Reviewed my surveillance cameras to see what happened. 3 blades broke off at the exact same time. One damaging my wall. One damaging my blinds and window. And one barely missed my new big screen. The other two are still intact but have cracks, they were ready to fly off next. Imagine if it happened while my kid was walking by. The blade that hit the wall was head height. I’m an electrician. This is no where near my first ceiling fan install, so that’s out of the question. 3 blades off. The remaining 2 are ready to snap off. Someone needs to QC these before an injury occurs. ... show more

We got these fans May 2020. Around seven months we noticed the fan not wanting to go on slow speed… then it stopped being able to go on medium. Then it stopped. One day it turned back on and we have been afraid to turn it off until we get a new fan… Not the only fan of this we have. Our second fan is possessed. Again about six months in we noticed it turning on and off on its own. The light is turning on and off. Now it wont go on slow speed only medium and high, while still controlling itself. Moral to the story, great initially, after six months you will need to replace. ... show more

The product looks nice but I have never in 30 years had blades break and fly off. Working with vendor to see if they'll let me buy or give me a new set. 07-15-21 Update - Westinghouse has replaced our fan with a way more expensive fan after I only asked to buy replacement parts. All companies run into manufacturing issues, but how they deal with them is so important. This has seriously been one of the best experiences with a product issue I have ever had. had this installed in Livingroom 5 months ago. today as my 2 year old son walks in the door one the blades flew off. i found that plastic broke on blade it self not the connection. i looked at all the others to see if it was just a fluke and found the other 4 blades had damage too

I bought this fan because of a good review on the NYT Wirecutter. I have it installed in my screened in porch. I was really happy with it for the first 6 months of use -- then a fan blade flew off while the fan was operating. Thankfully nobody was hurt. Upon close inspection, two of the other blades have developed cracks at the same point. WTH.....this product belongs in a Saturday Night Live skit. The ceiling fan that beheads your guests. One night I was getting ready for bed and my husband called me into our bedroom because the ceiling fan had started a violent wobbling. As I stood there trying to understand why it might have started doing that, a fan blade broke off and flew across the room. I am so glad it did not go in a direction where my husband lay in bed or toward me in the doorway.
