Need to light up an area of your yard? This light will sure do the trick! I ordered two of these, one for each side of our house. I wanted a light that was solar powered so I wouldn't have to run electricity or battery powered having to run up a ladder every time the batteries died on me. I wanted it to be motion sensing so they wouldn't be on all night annoying the neighbors. And I wanted them to be white to match the outside of the house. Well, couldn't be more spot on with this light! I did not want to have to drill into our siding to attach the lights so I purchased some vinyl siding clips (https://www.amazon.com/Siding-No-Hole-Needed-Outdoor-Security/dp/B07XG17SPY/) to do the trick (and you can read my review on them because they did need slight modification to work properly). Once the lights were installed and the cable that powers the light from the solar panel was tucked up underneath the siding, we were in business. I waited a full day of sunlight charging to return back to the lights and switch the power on and then eagerly awaited nightfall to see if they fit the bill. BOY DO THEY! This light is much brighter than I honestly expected from what is essentially a battery powered light! It is seriously brighter than my porch light. The LEDs don't consume a lot of power so I have the timer set to the maximum time to stay on if motion is detected. The motion detection range is superb and I have zero issues with it. At night I tried to "sneak up" on them and couldn't get within 15' of the house before they popped on and lit up the whole side of the house/yard. Here are my two minor complaints and why I'm giving it 4-stars. The first complaint is that the light only swivels in an up-and-down direction. It is not on a ball joint and cannot spin on an axis or rotate the light head. For one side of my house that really wasn't an issue as pointing out and down is perfect. But the other side of the house has a tree right in front of the light and I would rather cast the bulk of light down but out at an angle towards the front of the house rather than straight out onto the tree leaves. I ultimately jimmy-rigged a mounting bracket using some lightweight aluminum that allowed me to attach the light at an angle to the horizontally installed clips. The other complaint is the motion detector is so close to the light itself that if you angle the light down enough the back of the light physically pushes up against the object you're installing it to; in my case the siding. When this happens it pushes back into the motion detector and this limits the range of motion for the detector. It's hard to describe but if you're going to be installing this and ultimately plan on pointing it in a downward angle, just know that you may have issues with the motion detector's swivel feature. I've attached some pictures to the review. The first picture shows the the downward angle of the light and how it hinders the motion detector. It's also a nice picture to show how easy it is to tuck the power cable underneath the siding. The next two pictures are on the other side of the house and show my angle mounting bracket in use, as well as the solar panel all by its lonesome about 8' away from the main light (again, super easy to tuck the power cable). The last four pictures show a side-by-side of lights out and and then me tripping the motion detector to get the lights to come on. Again, super bright!     • Perfect light for dark areas
With everything happening, I needed some lights for the side of my house that were extremely dark. I searched and searched for a solar powered light and almost bought another brand. Once I came across these, o felt they were the perfect option for a few reasons. 1: the length of the cord from the solar panel to the light. 2: the ability for it to charge even during cloudy days. 3: the ease of installation. 4: the brand name. 5: the lumens it had compared to others. I ordered 2 one for each side of my house. As soon as they came in, I installed them. That night I did the test and wow, these lights out off a good amount of light. I was so impressed, I ordered another one for my front driveway. The negatives are: 1: The actual light only tilts up and down. Not a big deal as they light up the area well. 2: the motion sensor isn’t a 3 way swivel. I would have liked it to rotate at three points so I could aim the sensor in a better spot. Other then this, I may be ordering a couple more for my yard. Even with these 2 negatives, I still give it 5 stars. ... show more

    • BEWARE OF MAJOR PRODUCT DEFECT - TEST BEFORE INSTALLING! HAPPENED TO OTHER US BUYERS!
We bought one on 09-18th and my son-in-law installed it a few days ago. I forget to test it before mounting it on a wooden plate on a tree, breaking my own rule for these devices. After installation it did not work, but we thought it needed time to charge up. Instead, it has a major defect, one reported by others. Unfortunately, I found this out 4 days after the 30 day return period. HERE IS THE DEFECT: The Solar Power Panel when plugged in, prohibits the motion sensor from turning on the LED Panel. THis is an odd and unusual defect, probably in the main controller board of the unit. The Solar Panel does charge the battery, but for the unit to work as a motion-activated floodlight, (and this is hard to believe), you actually HAVE TO UNPLUG THE SOLAR POWER PANEL where it plugs into the controller/battery pack. Once the 12VDC Solar Panel is unplugged, the motion sensor becomes active and will turn on the LED panel, which is quite bright. Obviously, this is NOT HOW THIS IS SUPPOSED TO WORK. IT IS A MAJOR DEFECT. DEFECTIVE UNITS SHOULD BE RECALLED, too. And, the company would have to know about this defect, as there are two posts already describing this same defect. I would like the company to contact me immediately about sending a replacement unit. I will pursue a chargeback with my credit card company if I am not contact in the next 3 business days. UPDATE 11-07-2020: Contacted Westinghouse for warranty replacement. Emailed details of the defect in my unit. They did not comment or question the problem, so they know about it alrrady. They are working to get me a replacement, from China of course, but are having stock issues. Mine came from old stock with a mfg date of "Sept 2018". BEWARE any unit with that mfg date and be sure to charge it and fully test it on the ground in 30 day return window, before installing it. UPDATE 11-29-20: Finally, a replacement unit magically arrived via UPS. After many email back and forth to their Customer Service. Will charge and test, and hopefully they sent me a working unit this time. If so, I will adjust the rating. ... show more

Product appears to be new but obviously was unpacked and then repackaged into original box. Can't tell if this might be a returned item from a previous purchaser. Not very reassuring as to if this will work or for how long. When I buy "new" it should be new and in the same packaging and condition it left the manufacturer. Will update if we decide to keep the light and install it. UPDATE: Does not work with solar panel connected. Works while on battery power only but turns off when the solar panel is connected. UPDATE 2: I found that the solar panel also acts as a sensor to turn off the light during daylight. Covering the panel so no light reaches it will then allow the light to function properly. ... show more
