  • This WEN Chainsaw Is The Cat's A$$!!! This WEN Chainsaw Is The Cat's A$$!!!
Size: 15A, 18 inch
I am thoroughly impressed with this chainsaw! I like WEN tools. I've had a drill press of theirs for a number of years, and it's been great. I thought I'd give this electric saw a shot, but I didn't get my hopes up too high. I needn't have worried, though, as this chainsaw has far exceeded my expectations. I have two gas powered saws that I will probably never use again, unless I need cut something down where there's no electricity available. This saw has more than enough power, even considering the voltage drop of the 100' extension cord that I use. It made fast work of a three story tall pine that was felled by the wind. The chain can be tightened without tools, and without even removing your gloves! The chain oiler is automatic. The chain stops instantly when the trigger is released, or when the kickback bar is engaged. It's much quieter than a gas saw, and doesn't smoke or stink. There's no two-cycle gas to mix and store, which is nice. The only complaint that I have, and it's really only a minor issue, is that the sight window for the chain oil is white, and practically opaque. Even with bright red chain oil, is very difficult to see the level. A clear sight window would be much better but, as I said, that's a minor issue that I can live with. For $80 bucks, this thing is well worth the price. Heck, I'm considering buying another one just to have for a spare! ... show more

  • Exceeded Expectations - A Must-Have Chainsaw! Exceeded Expectations - A Must-Have Chainsaw!
Size: 15A, 18 inch
I recently purchased the Wen 18-inch 15 amp electric chainsaw, and I must say, it has exceeded all my expectations! From its powerful performance to its ease of use, this chainsaw has become an indispensable tool in my arsenal. First and foremost, the power of this chainsaw is remarkable. It effortlessly cuts through even the toughest of woods with precision and speed. Whether I'm trimming branches or cutting down trees, this chainsaw gets the job done efficiently every time. One concern I had initially was the issue of the chain coming loose, as mentioned by some reviewers. However, after doing some research, I learned that this is a common occurrence with chainsaws as the chain stretches during the first few uses. With proper maintenance and adjustment, I haven't experienced any issues with the chain coming loose. Another important point to note is the necessity of using the correct extension cord. I made sure to use a heavy-duty cord suitable for the power requirements of the chainsaw, and it has performed flawlessly. Overall, I highly recommend the Wen 18-inch 15 amp electric chainsaw to anyone in need of a reliable and powerful cutting tool. It has truly exceeded my expectations, and I'm confident it will exceed yours too. Don't hesitate to invest in this top-notch chainsaw for all your cutting needs! ... show more

  • Great chainsaw, electric or not Great chainsaw, electric or not
Size: 15A, 18 inch
This thing is great! It's plenty big and mean and will do the job of any gas chainsaw...assuming you have a long enough cord. I cut through a 30+ inch dried out, rock-hard oak tree in several places and it was still keen to keep going. The mechanism for attaching the blade is pretty awkward to put together out of the box, but in the end it works well enough. Tightening the chain is easy, but you do end up having to adjust it pretty often. The motor is very powerful so it does still vibrate like a gas saw and it can be loud, but not as loud as gas. Do be warned, you will have to add your own bar and chain oil, it does not come with any. The oil did leak from the cap a little bit, but I didn't have any other problems with the oil. I couldn't tell that it gets hot and I never had to worry about over working it (again - oak!). The best part was the instruction booklet - unpack "with the help of a friend or trustworthy foe" haha! ... show more

  • Works fine, longevity to be determined
Size: 15A, 18 inch
Works well so far. Delivery was delayed for a week but it was fairly easy to assemble. This is a wen 18inch version and seems to have plenty of power. The chain stops instantly when trigger is released. Does not appear to be variable speed. It’s either on at full speed or stopped. I like the blade scabbard. ... show more

  • Works absolutely fine
Size: 15A, 18 inch
Great little electric chainsaw, don’t expect it to work like a gas one. Cut 6”to 8” limbs with no problem.

  • Garbage
Size: 15A, 18 inch
This is the worst piece of garbage I've ever had the displeasure of using. Threw the chain on the second cut and pretty much requires 4 hands to put back on. Also empty the oil reservoir on those 2 cuts of a 12 inch log

  • I can make a lot more cuts with this 15 amp Wen. It cuts all day long.
Size: 15A, 18 inch
Hi. I recommend this 3.5 hp, corded 18" item. It has given me no trouble. I suggest you buy the biggest motor you can safely lift. 12 amp saws are light duty tools, and anything smaller is a toy. I'm old and a wimp and this one's not too heavy for me. Too many trees are my bane. This is my most often used chain saw once a tree in down on the ground. When the price drops back to $80 I will buy me a spare one. It has super simple chain replacement and chain tensioning. Decent quality Oregon chains are available for about $10 each on Amazon. Chain details are bundle part number S62X3, 18 inch 62 drive links 3/8 spacing and 0.050 slot width. The Oregon chains can be hand sharpened in the field. This saw has a big heavy motor drawing 15 amps. Something in the order of holding a washing machine motor up for tree work. It requires a 12 gage wire size extension cord for up to a 50 ft distance. Go 10 gage wire size power cord to extend that distance. It's not as fast at cutting rock-hard Oak as a big 2-stroke gas chain saw, of which I have many, most dear being my dependable Stihl, but the trade off is that the cheaper fuel powered saws are tempermental to the point of halting tree work. Two is one and one is none applies to chain saws in the field and when the work just hast to get done today. And sometimes one saw is used to un-entrap the other. Fuel degrades the fuel system components too. Little gas engines need fresh, high octane gas and I go rich on low ash oil mix. I never know if one of those will fire up. Gas saws' noise from arms' length away can make my head ring and my fingers numb. I can make a lot more cuts with this 15 amp Wen. It cuts all day long. It drinks bar oil and that needs to be topped off regularly. Best get a cartridge of chain bar lube and use it occasionally at the business end. When the chain cut rate slows down, or the cut wanders to the right, or it spits out more dust than shavings, the chain has gone dull. A dull chain just polishes the wood. I can cut from both sides of a log to manage bigger diameters, and also I bought a 24" bar for my 15 amp chain saw. Total investment matches the price of buying a larger Stihl. On top of the chain saw, I have 150 feet of 10 gage power cord, 50 feet of 12 gage cord, and an iron-sleeved, 4-stroke, gas powered generator for the work site. ... show more

  • Very good quality
Size: 15A, 18 inch
Very good quality, it was what I was waiting for. I used it and it works perfectly. Good material and good finish. I recommend it 100%. Excellent machine, very powerful. I used it to saw a tree made of one of the hardest woods on the planet (Handroanthus chrysanthus), the yellow flower, which had fallen due to a strong wind. It really surprised me. I hesitated at first, but when I used the chainsaw to open the quarters and saw the wood of this hard tree, it was like cutting butter. I did have to sharpen it every so often, but that was to be expected given the type of wood. Believe me, you won't find anything that hard in North America, and this little machine performed up to par. Totally recommended. I didn't even have to change the chain; I did everything with the factory chain. ... show more
