Description

Remember when your lawn was the talk of the neighborhood? Treat your yard right with the WEN 2-in-1 Electric Dethatcher and Scarifier. This versatile machine both aerates your lawn while also removing thatch, debris, dead grass, and other unwanted organic matter. If left untended, this organic buildup prevents your lawn from getting the full amount of nutrients, air, and water that it needs to thrive. Our powerful 15-amp motor rotates up to 3300 times per minute, clearing a path up to 16 inches wide with each pass. The unwanted thatch is then collected into the included detachable collection bag. Choose between the 20-blade scarifying head and the 24 steel-tine dethatching head depending on the task at hand. The 5-position height adjustment features five depth settings: +1/4", -1/8", -1/4", -3/8", -1/2". Overload protection automatically stops the motor during contact with hard rocks, concrete, and other immovable objects, preventing damage to the scarifier and the blades. And because it’s a WEN product, your 2-in-1 Electric Dethatcher comes backed by a two-year warranty, a helpful customer service line, and a stocked inventory of replacement parts, all to make sure you remember WEN.

  • Does the job - if you haven’t used a thatcher/scarifier - worth trying.
Style: 15-Inch, 13A
Worked wonders for my lawn, much better than raking pine needles and old leaves - easy to assemble the handle and swap out the thatcher and scarifier as needed. The thatching things and scarifier blade could have been a bit longer by 1 inch. They are 3 inches. Fills up quickly, basket is too small. It is quite light and plasticy - not sure about durability first WEN purchase. ... show more

  • Job made easy, Thanks !!!
Style: 16-Inch, 15A
Excellent seller, item was received as described and promptly and professionally packaged. Item works excellent and worked better than expected, WOW !!! The only downside, was the bagging option did not work as well as I had hoped. It actually works better with the bag removed and piles up the debris perfectly and easy to rake up afterward. Great value for the $$, very quiet, and easy to use and exchange the 2 attachments provided. It powered thru some dense debris with easy, seems to be of very high quality. Made my job very easy !! • Happy with this purchase
Style: Cordless
Powerful and gets the job done. Pretty easy to use once assembled. I’m glad that it came with two batteries so you can charge one and use one. Light weight and easy to handle. Change from the detacher to aeration blade was easy. The noise level was pretty moderate.

This machine is very good. Like everyone says, the bag could be bigger.

  • Works great!
Style: 16-Inch, 15A
Good dethatcher and definitely does what it’s made for! Was disappointed in the bagger and ended up taking the bag off. Will try bagging again on the next round but filled up way to fast and was more of a hassle. Machine worked great and pulled out thick, heavy thatch layer. I was concerned with overworking the motor, yet had no issues and seemed it had plenty of power to get the job done! Removed thatch, dead grass, and moss with ease! Been about 3-4 weeks from using and I’ve got the greenest grass I’ve ever had! Gave 4 stars only due to the small bagger but would give 5 otherwise! ... show more

  • Great purchase! Highly recommend.
Style: 15-Inch, 13A
I originally purchased a dethatching rake and very quickly realized there was no way I would be able to do my entire yard by hand with a rake! So I decided to give this a try, although I absolutely despise dealing with extention cords. This dethatcher is well worth the money and works wonders!!!!! Took me less than 30 minutes to do my front yard, and my yard is fairly large and on an incline. The amount of thatch was insane! I didn't get it all, but for the amount there is, and it got, from one go at a medium setting it was amazing. Super easy to assemble, although the instructions could use some better and more detailed pictures, and also very easy to use (Even with having to maneuver the extension cord). Would buy it again in a heartbeat! ... show more

  • Fair purchase for the price.
Style: Cordless
Pros: Not heavy duty whatsoever, but probably fine for a piece of equipment you aren't going to use that often. Does a good job dethatching. Super light, easily maneuverable. Inexpensive. Cons. Not expecting it to last. Name brand is WEN so typical light weight, cheaply made product is what you should expect. I bought a replacement dethatching blade from WEN right off the bat. Springs ain't gonna last long. Batteries went dead after dethatching a 40 x 60 area. It takes 2 to run the thing so you'll need at least one more set, probably two if you want to keep working straight through. The bag is small. Very small. On my yard I had to empty it about every 20 feet but that also means it's doing a good job. The double safety switch (button on the handle plus the squeeze lever is annoying. I get the litigious society causes this but it should be grown ass people buying these. If your dumb enough to hurt yourself using it a) it's your own fault and b) the pain will teach you not to be stupid. Don't make the rest of us walk around in bubble wrap because you don't think before you act. Overall I'm satisfied. Renting these things from the hardware store costs about $75 for 4 hours so in a few years it'll pay for itself as long as it doesn't break before then. You get what you pay for. I wasn't expecting professional grade but it does feel like a toy I'd buy for my grandson. If you have any decent size yard whatsoever (50x100 ft. +) I'd recommend buying extra batteries if you don't wanna wait to charge them. My two cents. ... show more

  • Green Thumbs Should Buy It
Style: 16-Inch, 15A
It’s ok but not dramatically changing the game of lawn care as far as my routine goes. I was genuinely impressed to see the thatch come off a fairly new lawn area, and shocked to see it detonate an older section of lawn. That is really what it comes down to, if you have a mixture of old and new lawn, this will provide some valuable transition to equal their appearance out. It will also create more work for the older lawn because what happens is what was apparently satisfactory looking before now needs to be restored because it stripped that facade of dead thatch fullness to bare dirt. Overall I’d say it is going to save my hands from blisters if raking this by hand. If you are taking on your own landscaping as a hobby and have that ‘want it done right do it yourself’ mantra, I’d say buy it. You will learn about the lawn, how it was mismanaged through the years, and of course the costs of improvements to which everything matters equally. ... show more
