If your looking for a real good home owners saw with 454 BIG BLOCK POWER this is your saw! I've worked on chain saws for a living over the past 30 years of being a mechanic. And I must say this is made Better than the Craftsman LOWE'S SAW I purchased. Starts easier. Bigger bar 20", made similar but better and definitely Bigger than the Craftsman. The chain tensioner is in the front like the old ones, and the frame is beefier. The price is the same as what Lowe's sells the Craftsman saw for with a 16" bar with 42cc engine. BOTH MADE IN CHINA BY THE WAY! It Ripped through a 28 inch tree fast. Handles good. starts good and very powerful. I highly recommend this. Update After many tanks of gas, bar oil, chain adjustments, and a full week of use with many many large log cuts,,, it is still easy to start and cuts like a hot knife though butter and I'm not being nice to this saw at all. 25:1 mix and old motor oil for bar oil. IT LIKES IT! ... show more

Like everything , It's made in China and it is a hit and miss to get a good one. I guess I have a good one . Starts on 2nd or 3rd pull every time. I have about 4 hrs on it in the last six months . So far so good.

Used one time for 5 mins. Worked ok other than the hardest thing I ever tried to start. Second time string broke loose and the tension spring came out some how. Took apart and seen the screw that turns the motor to start the saw automatically stripped! Do.your self a favor and save some time and buy a butter knife. It will chop a tree down faster than it will take.to.start this saw if its even working properly out the box ... show more

First & foremost the saw is quite well packaged. Once unboxed, assembly is pretty straight forward. Slap the bar and chain on, add fuel-mix & bar oil, then you're off to the races! I run only 89+ octane NON-ETHANOL fuel & synthetic 2-stroke oil at 30-40:1 mix for all of my equipment for the first 10hrs, then I run 40-50:1 after that. The saw took about 2mins to start & the spring assist start made it a breeze to pull. It has tons of power & a wide power-band. The weight is well-balanced overall & only about 18lbs, so working all day with it isn't exhausting. The vibration is minimal and seems to be less than my 18in Echo CS-4400. After running 2 tanks of fuel through it, I am thoroughly impressed with it's performance. The chain wass razor sharp out of the box and has held up well against oak, maple, & cedar. Be sure to clean your air filter MULTIPLE times a day. It only takes a minute and will help keep it running smooth. I highly recommend this saw. It's an EXCELLENT saw for the price. I got my saw a day early. Nicely packaged, with the bar, a new chain, a fully in- depth easy to read and understand instruction manual, a scrench (chainsaw wrench tool) an extra set of various size bolts for the saw and a nice carrying pouch. It also came with a nice sized 2-cycle oil mix bottle that measures the amount of 2-cycle oil to add to my fuel mix while storing my un-used oil. Pretty great bargain so far. I used the saw it started right up! I literally use the saw every single day and I use it for multiple hours at a time each day as I cut and fell tons of trees daily. I’ve used this saw so far for hard wood such as hickory, black oak, maple, manzanita, and juniper. I also have cut and fell quite a bit of soft woods too already such as doug fir, Jeffrey pine, and cedar. I have definitely gotten my “moneys worth” out of this saw and it’s still running like it’s brand new. If u are questioning this saw it is an EXCELLENT buy! I am one who researches things forever before purchase and I own a few husqvarnas and a stihl saw that I’ve used daily and this saw completely compares! ... show more

    • broken part after one use
I used the saw once and put it up. Later I found the bar oil had all leaked out onto the floor. I took off the cover and discovered that the rubber part that holds down the spring to the bar oiler was damaged. the saw works great but I can't use it without oil going onto the chain. It starts after a few pulls, it has lots of power but it's also heavy. I've had a Poulan Pro for 12 years that I never had any issues with but wanted to replace it with a new 18" chainsaw. I took a chance on this brand but I can not find any information about a warranty or how to order any parts. I have written to the seller and hopefully they will provide some guidance. Perhaps this is a universal part that I can get locally but if not, I may have wasted $108 buying this saw. ... show more
