I have naturally medium blonde hair. It is thick and medium length hair. Never dyed before the last few months, never used heat, nothing except normal hair styling oils, hair ties, etc. A few months back, I took a leap and had my hair dyed for the first time. Black, and I loved it. After a few months passed, I loved the black hair, but I preferred my natural blonde color. I bleached my hair a couple weeks ago with 2 Manic Panic 30 vol Flash Lightning packs. I was left with white roots, yellow ends, and VERY orange length all over my head from top to bottom. I didn't apply correctly, and paid for it. After considering Wella toners and reading reviews for weeks, I made the decision to just go for it. I wanted the orange brassy hair gone, and my natural blonde back. My hair was still soft and healthy but not the color I wanted. I took the plunge and bought 2 Wella T28 Toners, and a 16oz bottle of 10 Vol developer. I used 8oz of the 16oz developer on my hair, focusing most on the brassy orange areas, as the white would be fine after toner, and the yellow ends weren't terribly unbearable to me. Let it sit in plastic wrap for about 30 minutes. Prepped the last 8oz of developer and mixed it with the 2 Wella T28 Toners. After 30 minutes or so passed, I applied the toner and developer mixture to my hair, again focusing the most on the brassy areas, but I still applied it on each part of my hair. Toner works quickly, so I checked it every 5 minutes. I ended up leaving it in for about 20-25 min. Washed my hair gently, conditioned, and let it air dry. I swear it was unbelievable. The natural blonde hair I'd been born with was back. Completely even color, my hair was soft and not tangled or brittle, seemingly undamaged (albeit bleached before). Whatever Wella uses in their products, I didn't think it would work. I saw all these reviews and didn't think I would have the same results. I was taken off guard and given beautiful and perfect results. So thankful for this toner. I have pictures up, in order from when it was dyed black, bleached and brassy, to the final product thanks to Wella toner. Hope this helps someone. Worth every damn penny. ... show more

This product works if you use 20 vol developer and let it sit for 15 mins. I went from brassy yellow bleached hair to a soft natural blonde with no yellow. Will use again.

I’ve never used toner before but after my visit to my hair stylist and lightening up my hair, I thought the copper looked fine when I left but the more I styled it the more I really wanted to get rid of the brassiness. I could have gone back to her to have it fixed but I just wanted something more convenient and voila, I saw this product had lots of good reviews so I did some research. You do have to purchase a developer which a lot of the bad reviews mentioned, but do your research on the entire process before and you won’t be disappointed. I followed the instructions on the bottle - I rinsed my hair, towel dried it, and did a test strip first. Once I was satisfied with the test strip I went ahead and finished the rest of the head. Not sure if it’s the right way, but I sectioned off my hair, started on the bottom, put some foil behind each section, painted it with the 2:1 mix and went to town. I feel like this was probably the least messiest application method. I let it set for 20 minutes total (checking frequently in between), washed it out with conditioner, then styled as usual. LOVE the results, it looks a lot more natural that the orange. I used T28 toner and Volume 20 developer (same brand). I have medium length, thin hair and I used about half of the toner. If I had thicker and longer hair I think I’d definitely need another bottle. ... show more

I absolutely love Wella toners. I'm a brunette who refuses to be one and I'm very light blonde most of the time. Since my hair is so dark and I go so light my hair constantly looks brassy unless I'm toning. It's just too big of a contrast, but these toners work wonders. For many years I was just using toning shampoos but I'm just getting impatient since I needed a deeper toning. So now I do this about once a month. I'll use a box dye on my roots then a few weeks later I will do a good tone. I space it out because my hair has been through a lot and I'm trying to grow it longer versus fry it even more. Then every couple months I will put my own highlights in so there's not such a dark base with all the growth coming out. I used to do bleach baths on my roots, but it just became too hard to do myself and I was getting the bleach on other ends that were already bleached which melted my hair. I only wash my hair every four days or so, And I would say this toner lasts about a month for me or a little more. It would probably last longer but I need to do clarifying shampoo every 1.5 weeks due to the products I use which pulls out color. ... show more

FORMER HAIRDRESSER HERE: This is my go to Wella toner. It's more "natural", since I'm not into silver anymore. It's platinum in my opinion but not WHITE. PLEASE NOTE: many people think toner will fix everything. That isn't It's purpose. It's purpose is to make it the shade or blonde you want. You HAVE to bleach to the color of the inside of a banana for toners to work. Soft pale yellow. Do not put toner on orange hair lol ... show more
