I wanted something inexpensive to furnish a vacation home in New Mexico. The metal framed, industrial look with wood insert headboard had the rustic appeal I was looking for so I purchased three. When they arrived, I was excited to see the quality in all the materials! The bed frame is metal and the supporting cross members supporting the mattress are metal, all which have screws to secure everything together. The instructions were very easy to follow and the entire bed frame and headboard went together like a charm! The best thing about this purchase......besides the great price......it looks great and is very solid! What made the assembly easy for me, which will help you too is to use a power drill with the appropriate size Allen Wrench tip. Using the tool provided works fine too but it will take much longer. Also, plastic clips are provided to eliminate any squeaking that the metal cross-members could make. I found the easiest way to secure them after pressing them into place was to use the claw end of my hammer to gently tap them, locking them in the slot. This is a great purchase! It's well worth more than it cost and like me, you'll be very pleased and find the bed frame / headboard will exceed your expectations too! ... show more
