This isn't my first Weber. I've worn out a few over many years. I used to have a Q1200, which was a reliable little grill, but emphasis on 'little'. And, I had a Spirit Grill that we put into storage (okay....just parked it in the backyard). Good grill, but more susceptible to wind than the Q1200. When we moved into a condo, outdoor gas on the deck was forbidden, so we got the electric version, the Q1400, and that's bigger than the Q1200 and is a very usable size. Didn't kick out the heat like a gas grill, but did a decent job on a steak or a porkchop. The Q1400 finally failed....which is possibly related to my leaving it on for close to three days. Dang. But, we have moved into a non-condo house where we can have propane again. Rather than refurbish my old Weber Spirit grill, I decided to use the stand from the Spirit with the new Q2400. Works great. I love the size of the Q2400. Not crazy big when you're just cooking for two people, and it's much more resistant to wind than the Spirit (which is true for all the Q series grills). Should use less gas, right? The + feature, the burner that runs down the middle, is like a turbo. Great to sear a steak. It's either on or off, but that's all it needs to do. One thing I like about all the Q grills is that they're relatively easy to clean. Not easy, just relatively easy. One downside is that what drips off the meat can/will land on the burners and clog them over time, unlike larger grills like the Spirit that have metal "tents" over the burners to prohibit that. So, once in a great while, they'll need to be cleaned...not so bad to do. I like the improved way the grease tray slides out from the front. Many complain about the price, but....I dunno. It does what I want it to do, and it's a quality piece of gear, so I'm not knocking any stars off for that. Oh, and get the red. It looks fantastic! ... show more

Love this grill! We have tried dozens of small portable grills over the years and none of them can compare. No grease fires, good spacing between the grate and the flame. Cooks anything we throw on it as though we are using a larger grill. Cooks steaks with a perfect sear to medium rare and fatty burgers with no grease fire. ... show more

Great for slow cooking or searing a steak. Grill quality: Very few parts that can rust. On an older version of this, which is now almost 15 years old. Please note this requires a full size tank and does not work with 1 pound fuel like the old ones did.

This is a great grill, well-built, even heat, easy to clean, gets hot, heats fast, every grill I have owned ends up rusting and falling apart, I don't think that will happen with this one and is a main reason I paid so much for it, hope to have it for many years.

The grill works fine and seems very well made. The reason I’m only giving it 3 stars is because the marketing was deceptive. The measurements shown say it’s 30” inches wide. It leads you to believe that this includes the removable side shelves. But that’s not the case. It’s just the grill itself. I wanted to use the grill a dozen times before writing a review. The good: It performs as well as Genesis model I owned years ago. The grill gets hot all the way to the edges so you can use the entire surface. The grill grates are heavy and high quality. It gets hot enough to create good caramelization on a steak. The grill grates are big enough to cook 2 Cowboy size Ribeye steaks or 6 Filet Mignon steaks. The only negative thing I have found are the cheaply made shelves that come with the grill. I was never planning to use them so not a big deal for me. I keep the grill on a outdoor stainless steel table. Weber claims the grill reaches 700 F. My Infrared Thermometer says 675 F. on the grill surface with all burners on and lid closed for 20 minutes. This is not a big deal, the grill works great and I am very happy with it's performance. I purchased the optional rotisserie. It is well made and does a great job. It is worth the extra money. ... show more
