I bought this to make fried rice on the grill and it worked really good (delicious...as good as a Japanese steakhouse). I still find it a bit small and wish it covered the entire grill surface. However, if you are looking to use one side of the grates for grilling meat and the other side for grilling vegetables, this set up works perfect. I've made burgers, bacon, all kinds of vegetables on it and it works really well. You get a nice char on the vegetables versus the grill baskets and much easier to move everything around. I may purchase another to do the full hibatchi meal.

Love grilling on this - no more losing shrimp or asparagus through the grates! It's surprisingly heavy, yet easy to put on, pull off and wipe down. The heating seems to be consistent from all quadrants, so meat cooks evenly. The surface started out already not letting food stick like mad, and continues to be a great surface for all sorts of meats and veggies. My only complaint is that it's hard to get to the things that migrate to the back and over the first lip, they get wedged into the small channel of no-mans' land; but if I took off the bun-toaster top grill it would be a problem solved. Fits my husband's Weber grill perfectly, no issues with length or width. Can't wait to eat what else gets created on this grilling surface!

I love my Weber Spirit and I purchased this griddle so I could use it on one half of the grill for sides while grilling meats on the other (as shown in the 3rd product picture on Amazon.) However, because this thing is so well-made (very thick and heavy) it makes it impossible to regulate temperature on the griddle when using the Weber properly. If you do what Weber says, preheat before cooking and cook with the grill cover closed, there is no way to bring the temp of the griddle down - the thermal mass of this thing is too great. I've tried preheating the griddle side on the lowest flame, but it still picks up so much of the heat from the grill side and it burns everything placed on there. Another design flaw is that the griddle sits on the middle burner of the Spirit 300, so if you're trying to keep the grilling grate evenly hot, there's no way to keep the griddle cooler. I even called Weber and they confirmed that in order to properly regulate the heat of the griddle, it cannot be used while grilling. Follow up: Thanks to the reviewer who suggested the Lodge cast iron griddle as a better choice. Sometimes simpler is better. I purchased that griddle for my Spirit and it has been much better for me. Since it sits on the grates, it can be added after the preheating of the grill and it is narrower so it only sits over a single burner - this means much better heat control.

I bought this for my Weber Spirit grill. It's a perfect fit and appears to be good quality. The only thing I was disappointed in was that the actual usable griddle surface on this is just under 11"x13" because the drainage channels on either end take up quite a bit of surface area. I also have the 9.5" x16.75" Lodge griddle. The Lodge griddle was 1/3 of the price of this one and actually gives you MORE surface. I have both this griddle and the Lodge griddle side-by-side on my grill right now. The Lodge just sits on top of the grill grates but gives you more griddle surface area (and you don't have to find a place to store your grill grates). My recommendation would be to buy a Lodge griddle ... or even buy two Lodge griddles and you will still be money ahead and have far more griddle surface area! Happy grilling!

It is very annoying that the exact dimensions of this griddle are not printed on this product page. It is also annoying that the griddle you get, is not exactly what is shown in the picture. According to several website references, this #7598 should fit the old Genesis grills, along with the Spirit Series. Length-wise it fits just fine. Width-wise it is a tad too wide. See those small "wings" on each side? Take away just one of them and it would fit. We like the griddle, but we have had to lay the right side grill grate on top of the wing, which lifts the grill grate up a half inch or so. Still useable, but a little wacky looking. Also, there is a hole in the center of each of the troughs that don't show in the pictures on this product page. I suppose it is so grease can drain out, but we don't like that it drains out at the edges of the grill, then has to find its way down the sides and into the trap. We have plugged the holes with screws. Last, but not least: While it has not seemed to disturb the integrity of the griddle surface, (at least not yet....), the griddle surface has a big irregularity in it--kind of like a big swipe mark through the middle of it.

From the moment I unpacked this cast iron griddle I have cooked on it non-stop. Coat it with a light sheen of conola oil each time after use and additional seasoning and non stick properties continue to improve. Awesome bacon, fried eggs, pancakes. Of course I cook more than breakfast. The reverse side offers the ability to cook veggies, brats, and sausages. I like to use this same side to smoke salmon with a smoke box on the opposite side of the grill using pecan wood chips (if you want to try something other than cedar planks). This has been the go-to grilling accessory. Highly recommended.

I have an older Weber Grill From 2003. It's a Genesis Gold B Lp, W/ Stainless Steel Lid. I attached a picture of the Grill. I called Weber and asked them if they had a griddle specific to my model and they told me no. I did a little research on the sizes of griddles available and then measured my grill and the 7598 by measurement appeared it would work so I took the chance on ordering it and it fits perfect. I could not be happier.

Wish the grilling surface were larger and didn't waste so much space for the side handles. Also, on the fajita side you have to be sure to not let liquids leak out the 2 holes - one on either side. It is rather hard to clean so spray cooking spray before grilling and wash as soon as it's cool to avoid hard to clean messes.
