The Royal Gourmet PD1301R is an awesome little griddle, and you really can’t beat the price! I’ve always wanted a griddle, but the bigger ones were either too large or too expensive for my needs. Since I only cook for 3 people, having a large griddle felt like overkill and a waste of space. This 24-inch, 3-burner tabletop model is the perfect size for me. It heats evenly, has plenty of cooking space, and is very easy to clean. I had one of those griddles that you add to the top of a normal gas grill, and it didn’t work great and was a pain to clean. This griddle is so much better in terms of functionality and ease of cleaning. The cover is a nice bonus, making it portable and convenient for outdoor cooking. If you’re looking for a compact, budget-friendly griddle that performs great, this one is a fantastic option! ... show more

This griddle is absolutely amazing, light weight. Esy to assemble. Non stick! I used it for 6 days straight for camping, cooking several meals daily. I absolutely love this! Food taste amazing, cooks evenly, no rust!

    • Ok overall, but not very even in heat distribution.

I've managed to cook some really nice batches of chicken on it, so no major complaints here. However it has its flaws. Griddle bed is uneven in it's heat distribution. Middle 1/3 strip of the bed, right over the burners gets very hot (450 - 500) even on the lowest setting. Further 1/3 strip of the bed gets very hot too but just a bit lower. Closest 1/3 strip of the bed gets very low temperatures (just over 300). This is with all three burners on lowest setting. The grease catching hole and tray tend to leak really badly. The hole in the tray tends to drop crease more on to the case of the griddle rather than into the grease catching tray. It is an easy solution as a simple aluminum foil funnel stuck between the griddle bed and through the hole of the body into the grease tray catches all the drips, but it is still another thing to do every time I use it. The good thing is that the bed seemed to season relatively well and is very non stick even with acidic and sugary/sticky items such as Orange juice (Chicken breast marinated in orange juice and peel with Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce). Overall I'm still getting a good use out of this griddle and I like its size as it is very compact for a propane gas griddle, but it has its flaws and quirks to work around. ... show more

Absolutely love this griddle! Super easy to put together and use. Wonderful design with very even heat distribution, only one cooler spot on the front near the drain hole but it’s negligible. The build quality is pretty good with the griddle plate itself being a good thickness. After I put it together I did a burn in for about 15-20 minutes. Then I made chicken fajitas on it for the first cook. They turned out amazing! Even though the griddle is porcelain coated it’s not non stick. You’ve gotta use oil when cooking or your food will stick. The coating does make for easy clean up though and the drain cup has pretty large capacity. I’ve made pancakes and eggs for breakfast and they get done super fast even on low heat. Now for the spider part, the stand I use for it must have had a jumping spider on it near the top. After my first burn in I was satisfied with how it was preforming so I decided to cook. About half way through cooking i noticed flames coming out of the back of the griddle. I looked under the griddle at the burners and the center burner was putting out the big yellow flames you don’t want to see. The next day I took the center burner out and went to clean it out. I flung out what I thought was plastic but then it began crawling across my kitchen floor. It was a good sized jumping spider, I took it back outside but further away from my patio. After clearing out the spider and its nest the burner functions just fine. Tonight I made a stir fry on it an I am so happy with my purchase. 100% recommend getting this if you’re wanting to cook at the lake, camping, or anywhere you desire.
