The Royal Gourmet PD1301R is an awesome little griddle, and you really can’t beat the price! I’ve always wanted a griddle, but the bigger ones were either too large or too expensive for my needs. Since I only cook for 3 people, having a large griddle felt like overkill and a waste of space. This 24-inch, 3-burner tabletop model is the perfect size for me. It heats evenly, has plenty of cooking space, and is very easy to clean. I had one of those griddles that you add to the top of a normal gas grill, and it didn’t work great and was a pain to clean. This griddle is so much better in terms of functionality and ease of cleaning. The cover is a nice bonus, making it portable and convenient for outdoor cooking. If you’re looking for a compact, budget-friendly griddle that performs great, this one is a fantastic option! ... show more

I received my new Royal Gourmet griddle in less then two days from Amazon Prime. What a treat it was to get what I ordered in such a short time. Thank you Amazon. Now about this Griddle. I read a lot of the reviews about it and more bad ones then good ones. So that is when I decided to give it a try. It was package very professional and was extremely easy to assemble. I was very impressed by how stylish it looked when assembled. The actual griddle top was really built to get the job done. The stainless burners when lit burned very evenly giving a nice spread of blue flame. The griddle top was comfortable and easy to handle. I heard in the previous reviews that the unit was very flimsy and the griddle cook top was made cheap. They also talked about how it didn’t heat evenly, that it didn’t heat very hot, that it heated more to the rear then the front, that the drain hole on the griddle didn’t line up with the hole over the drain cup but I am here to tell you that I must have been very fortunate because non of the above did I experience with this one. It cooked great and easy for me. Clean up was a breeze with the removable griddle top. I believe that we all can get an item that may have a problem but for me I would give it a told thumbs up. The cooking surface is heavier than I expected ... a big plus. I washed and seasoned it following the directions. No problem with sticking so far...but I have't tried it with eggs or pancakes. It was easy to set up and all burners lit first try with the igniter. It works great for my purposes...mostly meat and veggies. Slightly uneven heat on surface, but manageable once you learn the hot spots. I do recommend pre heating on high and lowering heat to cook. Easy to clean...I put a small stainless container of water on one corner of the griddle to heat while I'm cooking. When I remove the food, and while it is still hot, I just pour a small amount of the hot water on the surface and scrape it into the receptacle with a silicon spatula. Then just wipe off the surface with paper towels. No need to re-season if you don't use soap. I have not used metal utensils at all...don't want to risk a scratch. The grease receptacle is easy to empty and wash for the next use. I watched LOTS of videos of guys cooking on all brands of "flat top" grills. Lots of good tips, techniques and recipes there. My favorite is to push the fat outside edge of a steak up against the lip of the griddle to brown it perfectly. I'd recommend this griddle to anyone who likes meat, but not the smell or mess when cooking inside. Another reason to have a propane griddle...if we have another power black out this winter, we still have a way to cook that doesn't involve building a fire. Keep in mind that this is ONLY for cooking outdoors...NOT inside your home. BTW I am a woman who does not enjoy grilling, but I do love this flat top grill. ... show more
