The Royal Gourmet PD1301R is an awesome little griddle, and you really can’t beat the price! I’ve always wanted a griddle, but the bigger ones were either too large or too expensive for my needs. Since I only cook for 3 people, having a large griddle felt like overkill and a waste of space. This 24-inch, 3-burner tabletop model is the perfect size for me. It heats evenly, has plenty of cooking space, and is very easy to clean. I had one of those griddles that you add to the top of a normal gas grill, and it didn’t work great and was a pain to clean. This griddle is so much better in terms of functionality and ease of cleaning. The cover is a nice bonus, making it portable and convenient for outdoor cooking. Absolutely LOVE this griddle! We use this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner while camping. It is large enough to cook several items at once. The heat distribution is pretty good and everything is good, heavy duty quality. This is much cheaper than name brand products but works just as good, and for a much better price! We use this with a large propane tank that is on our camper, so it's great to set up right next to it on our picnic table. The cover is awesome for storage in between camping trips. ... show more

This griddle works great. Does the job. just like it says portable and very economical. Cooked bacon, eggs, and pancakes with no problem. Easy to clean as well. Only issue i had with this griddle is that the grease trap hole is a little small. You have to keep an eye on it so it stays clear. Other than that you will like this product. ... show more

Absolutely love this griddle! Super easy to put together and use. Wonderful design with very even heat distribution, only one cooler spot on the front near the drain hole but it’s negligible. The build quality is pretty good with the griddle plate itself being a good thickness. After I put it together I did a burn in for about 15-20 minutes. Then I made chicken fajitas on it for the first cook. They turned out amazing! Even though the griddle is porcelain coated it’s not non stick. You’ve gotta use oil when cooking or your food will stick. The coating does make for easy clean up though and the drain cup has pretty large capacity. I’ve made pancakes and eggs for breakfast and they get done super fast even on low heat. Now for the spider part, the stand I use for it must have had a jumping spider on it near the top. After my first burn in I was satisfied with how it was preforming so I decided to cook. About half way through cooking i noticed flames coming out of the back of the griddle. I looked under the griddle at the burners and the center burner was putting out the big yellow flames you don’t want to see. The next day I took the center burner out and went to clean it out. I flung out what I thought was plastic but then it began crawling across my kitchen floor. It was a good sized jumping spider, I took it back outside but further away from my patio. After clearing out the spider and its nest the burner functions just fine. Tonight I made a stir fry on it an I am so happy with my purchase. 100% recommend getting this if you’re wanting to cook at the lake, camping, or anywhere you desire. It’s very portable and can feed 4-6 people with one cook session. ... show more

This is a decent grill for the price, but I'd pay a bit more for something like a Blackstone. Out of the box the ignitor did not work. It is a manual ignitor (no batteries required), but that's not a deal-breaker. There are ports on the side for using a lighter to get the griddle going. Even though it has three burners it heats unevenly. The center of the grill gets much hotter and the sides probably get about 75% as hot at the same setting, so you'll have to lower the center burner setting to get something close to even cooking. While it is an iron griddle it seemed a bit warped (concave) in the middle. On a level platform the grease will migrate to the center of the griddle. Again..not a big deal, but a little annoying. It seasons just like any griddle, but due to the uneven heating the edges will not season as well. I've used this about 4 or 5 times so far and it's a little more difficult to keep the perimeter from rusting, even after leaving on high heat, cleaning, and seasoning after use. I leave it inside so humidity doesn't ruin it (until I can get a silicone mat for it). I took it camping and it performed as expected, based on the above review. My honest take is that it's going to be reliable and last a while. The internals are solid and the grease catch is in a good spot, though the hole that goes down to the catch can get filled with bits and pieces and clog it pretty easily (bacon, burger pieces, etc). Keep an eye on that b/c I had an instance where the grease (even though the hole was clear) would migrate down the underside of the griddle all the way to the other side of and drip on the table. Obviously, not a good scenario as the grease can easily catch on fire if it drips into the burners. That's probably the biggest downfall of the griddle. ... show more
