Have been trying to get parts for my 12v foot control trolling motor for 3 weeks, cannot get in touch with the people in Australia, the damage was my fault but cannot get parts to fix it. Motor is only 3 months old.

  • Awful, do not buy.
Color: Black
Do not buy, didn’t last a couple weeks before it began to malfunction. The clip that holds the shaft in place broke, it will not run in mid to high speed for long and will quit, then have to reset. The foot pedal has become loose and now the button for momentary does work so now it is either on or off ... show more

  • Great for a nice fishing or Jon boat
Color: Black
This is an interesting trolling motor because at first I was a bit hung up on the voltage because I thought that it might be a little weak since most of the higher boost ones seem to have 24 volts (using 24 volt over 12 volt batteries also give you a significant battery advantage) but I have been pleasantly surprised at how efficient and effective this has been. This is not to propel me around the bay or lake but to rather help hone in my location to certain fishing spots. The steering took a bit to get used to but it works very well and this thing is built like a tank. I love that it is good for fresh or salt water. I do wish it was 24 volts and a bit cheaper but it is as it is. Pros: Made very well Good accessories included to do a good install Works well for fresh or salt water Steering is good Has enough boost for a 14' Jon boat Cons: Install was a bit more than I anticipated (depends on your boat so your mileage may vary) It is an alright value ... show more

  • so far so good, nice solid option
Color: Black
June 2025 update....came to mind while looking for something else that i shohld update again. Its been a couple years of saltwater and lower colorado river water (think mojave or sonoran desert conditions with brackish water) still working well, not protected and been exposed to weather since i received it. Overall for a cable operated unit im pleased. The propeller has been a solid performer too. Yay... I guess this has been a pretty nice surprise. A note I have kept a minnkota ready to swap in should there be issues and I am pleased to say unneeded. May 2024 update! Still pretty good option still working, black anodized aluminum shaft is now gold due to sun fading. Pull string broke yesterday.... replaced with 550 paracord...works well. Prop chipped and beat up...not props fault. But prop has not broken and that's a testimony considering how rough I am on trolling props. Just now getting to ordering one... while a replacement prints out. Still overall pleased unit has 2 yrs of brackish and salt water use alternated and I have never given it a sunshade or protection just a rinse when I remember. May 2022, I was unsure, didn't know the name, did some research and it seemed legit. Other reviews on many sites indicated some cust service and parts support issues, I have experienced none of these issues as I have had Zero Issues. I put it on a 16ft starcraft aluminum v hull and found the depth adequate for calm water, I don't think it will be deep enough for the kelp beds though. It moves the boat with typical 12v authority, more than enough for 99% of things. Easy simple old school cable steering design just like 1990 lol. So far I'm happy and will update if issues occur. ... show more

  • Wow - this is really impressive
Color: Black
I am really quite impressed with this Watersnake Hawser Cable Steer Motor. First and most important to me is the quality. It is very robust and well build and there is nothing about it the gives off the appearance of being cheap. I feel not only comfortable using it on my dingy but also relying on it to get me fishing and to the shore and back without having to use my paddle. That said, Bravo! It is really a nice motor for fishing. Also very quiet and cool running. I mounting mine to the bow which was nice as it comes with a bow mount in the kit which saved me a fair nickel or two not having to run to the marine supple store. I have used similar models before and one thing that is really noteworthy with this one is how clean the propeller comes up which is nice as were I fish there is a lot of seaweed and slime in the water and this seems to cut through it nicely without bring it back up. That feature alone makes this worth every penny. Really a great unit at a very attractive price point. And yes, it is so nice to be able to get such good quality marine stuff on Amazon and not having to pay through the roof at the boar center. 100% happy with this and I highly recommend it. ... show more

  • Pushes my 16'2" boat, no problem Pushes my 16'2" boat, no problem
Color: Black
We have a 16'2" aluminum console boat that we put this motor on and it's used on small freshwater lakes. -The instructions were easy to understand. There's also alot of general online tutorials if you still need help figuring out where to put it. -Assembly was simple. The shaft came attached to the pedal already which is super convenient. The shaft easily attaches to the anchor body by a clip. We have to take the shaft off while the boat is docked because it will hit against our dock. So I really like that disengages so easily. - it is recommended to use a 100ah battery. We use a 60ah lithium battery and it has so much power. - the forward, horizontal, backwards function of the pedal is for spinning the motor around to change directions. It's really sensitive. But it quickly moves the boat in whatever direction you need it. - to change the speed of the propeller, there is a dial on the side. You can go really slow to ripping through the water. -It definitely is much different to use a foot pedal to change directions or speed because as the boat rocks, you can easily lose balance on wavy lakes. - For the price, its a really good trolling motor. ... show more

  • Foot controls frees up your hands so you can keep fishing.
Color: Black
If you're eyeing up foot controlled bow mounted trolling motor, you'd be hard pressed to go wrong with this Watersnake. It was easy to set up and mount to the front of our boat. Controls are responsive and if you're upgrading from a hand controlled motor to this foot pedal one, you'll never want to go back, especially if you're fishing. It frees up your hands to keep casting while still being able to control the direction you're going. Plenty of power and easy to control! ... show more
