Building on the tried and true design of our NV Series trolling motors, the kayak Series features a height adjustable 24-Inch shaft for proper depth placement. We have provided extended battery cabling to provide for flexible battery placement, ensuring compatibility with all transom mount kayaks and canoes. Five forward speeds and three reverse speeds allow for a smooth and efficient ride, a 5 LED battery indicator ensures you know how much run time is left on your current Charge. The Newport 36lb thrust kayak Series motor comes equipped with a 2-blade propeller to reduce drag, balancing efficiency and thrust for optimal performance. The kayak Series trolling motor is powered by one (1) 12-volt Lead-Acid Deep Cycle or Marine battery. I bought used/like new. Some issues with it that were easily resolved. Head was reversed and screw was stripped. Wire inside was pinched, But it was a good deal and Amazon’s wonderful customer service offered a great discount.

The media could not be loaded. Perfect motor for my Coracle! Speed 5 with the 36 pound thrust as about as fast as I would want to go. I went out for a couple hours and the motor worked perfectly for my experimental boat. The battery indicator lights indicated a full charge after a couple hours of fun, but the battery is taking some hours to recharge, so I don't know if the lights are accurate. I'm going to try it on my canoe next. I think the 55 pound thrust would be even better, but probably would drain the battery more. But the 36 is definitely perfect for the Coracle. ... show more
