We live in an apartment so can’t install a more elaborate water purification system, but the Waterdrop faucet filter works great. Water tastes great, better than straight out of the faucet which to us still has a bit of a different taste.     • Excellent filter with one major design flaw

This is one of the best faucet filters i've found out there in the world, the filters last a very long time compared to something like the bigger brands, and it's so easy to install. It comes in two parts, you've got the chamber that holds the filter and the faucet attachment. You find the adapter that fits your faucet, and then the unit clamps over it. Then you place the filter into the attachment, and with a quarter turn it's on. The major flaw in this device is where the two parts meet. I'm having to purchase a third faucet unit because where the two parts meet is prone to a lot of wear and tear. It's just two interlocking pieces of plastic and because the filter assembly fills with water it gets heavy. This causes the interface to slowly break over time until it springs a full-on leak and the process takes a few months to happen, but it is incredibly frustrating to have to order a part. Part of the reason for this is that the interface on the faucet unit isn't a single piece of plastic, it's on a seam so there is uneven pressure across the whole socket. I can only hope that they do a revision where the interface is either a single molded bit of plastic or better yet a threaded chamber that can allow for the filter assembly to screw on rather than lock into place with a quarter turn. This would better distribute the load and keep the thing from breaking. And to be fair, I am in a house with three kids and I would not be surprised if the way they move the faucet around contributes to the wear and tear. Aside from that, it's a fantastic filter unit and really gets the job done. It even helps increase the water pressure in my somewhat faulty sink! ... show more

We just moved into a new apt and unfortunately we left our steel Water Drop at the old house . To save on immediate cost I bought the basic plastic model. I only paid 16.00 approx for this one I’m not sure why it was so low but with having to make multiple deposits all on the same day I certainly appreciate the extremely low cost when this begins too leak or if I catch the the steel modal at a low price I’ll gervthe stainless steel one which I believe will last year and years with proper maintenance. I’ve tried other brands because someone else made the purchase and the Water Drop is superior in every way to Brita and Pur. Particularly it’s the taste though every overnight guest we have always comments on how good our water is . It’s simply better tasting it’s the crispest, freshest tasting water produced by any of the faucet mount systems I’ve tried and it also beats out all the pitcher filters by a noticeable amount. The basic plastic water Drop faucet mount system last much longer than the brands by 6 months to a year just because the design makes a better longer lasting product. I assume that once I’m back in a house instead of an apartment I’ll try the under sink system or maybe go move into an RO system once we buy instead of rent in any case I know we will by Water Drop and am sure we will be pleased with any of their products. ... show more
