I wish I hadn't waited so long to buy this canner. My previous canner started rusting on me, so I was in need of a new one. I bought a similar canner from a big box store but returned it within days because of the wire rack being so flimsy. I kept seeing this one on Amazon, but was hesitant to purchase because I thought I was buying another poor quality canner. Boy, was I wrong! I posted a question to the Amazon community asking if the wire rack was flimsy, and almost immediately I had 9 answers saying it is the best canner they have purchased, hands down. I went ahead and purchased it, and as soon as I took it out of the box, I could feel the sturdiness in the wire rack. I canned 7 quarts of peaches today, and was so excited as how wonderful the wire rack is with a full batch. Another thing I noticed is how quickly the canner heated up plus the lid fits nice and tight. If you aren't sure about this canner don't wait like I did, just buy it, you won't regret it!

The media could not be loaded. About 30 years ago I bought an old enamel ware canner at a yard sale for $3.00. It had served me well, but with time the enamel became chipped and eventually so badly etched inside that it was time to retire it. I went looking for a nice stainless canner to replace it and found this one. The reviews had me a little concerned. But on receipt all is well. It will be perfect. It has a nice, thick, heavy bottom that should resist warping and a vented glass lid that will hopefully keep it from spitting water onto my stovetop. The insulated handles are also much appreciated. Because it's Stainless it will be rust and chip free and easy to care for. The bottom is nice and flat, though I use a Wolf gas stove, so it's precision isn't as important to me as it might be for someone with an induction range. I have doubts about the rack, I saw nothing saying that it's stainless and it appears to be plated. I anticipate it rusting a bit soon after a few uses. Though I haven't used it yet, I feel confident that it will serve me for the rest of my canning seasons to come. It arrived in perfect condition. It appears I was luckier than some folks in that respect. The packing needs to be improved to protect the glass lid. It's simply turned upside down in the pot with nothing between but a plastic bag to protect it. It's no wonder folks are getting pots with shattered lids. A simple piece of cardboard nested between the two would be an easy solution. I would most certainly recommend it.

I bought one of these for my daughter who has begun canning and then thought why not get one for myself !! I like the weight, sturdiness and stainless steel properties of this water bath canner. The handles are coated, making it safer than a metal handle and the pot doesn't bend or warp with the weight of the quart jars and water, another safety feature. Great canner.

The media could not be loaded. Nice pot overall. Love the rack inside. Very useful. Only issue I have is that the water started leaking out of one of the rivets when I had the water high. I removed some of the water and it stopped leaking but then of course when it started to boil, it started to leak again.

I am shocked. In today's world, I feel like I sometimes get cheap deals with a high price. This pot is awesome. I have been cooking for large crowds, catering, and canning for over 50 years and know my cookware. I wanted to have more than one water bath canner and refuse to get the granite enamel ones. I admit I am somewhat abusive to my kitchen wares due to volume of work and using multiple locations (need to travel). I was so shocked by the quality of the pot, that I went into Amazon to see how much I paid for it. I feel the value is way more than the cost. It is very sturdy, flat bottom, nice lid, handles big enough for pot holders, and came well packaged with no dents (got one from Walmart that had a huge dent in the bottom of it and it costs more!). I can get double use from it as a stock pot, basic pot to hold cleaned and diced vegetables before canning process, and so much more. This is an incredible deal and glad I ordered two. I am VERY picky and rarely write reviews, but this was worth my time and effort to write because I feel it is justified.

McSunley Water Bath Canner with Glass Lid, Induction Capable, 21.5Qt, Stainless Steel. This is a very nice pot and holds eight 16 ounce wide mouth mason jars but it is NOT light. when filled with enough water to reach the lids of eight mason jars it is very heavy and trying to move it from sink to stove and or stove to sink you have to be prepared to do some real heavy weight lifting. the pot is heavy gauge stainless so it is really sturdy and will last forever if taken care of properly. ( wash and dry) the glass lid is also good quality and has a vent hole in it. so for canning purposes or mega sauce quantities this is a very good buy.

We shopped and reviewed other types, brands and prices to replace our aging canner. This is a hit. After several baths, we decided this was a perfect match. The SS material is of quality construction. The see-through lid with vent hole is what every canner should incorporate. Lid is a nice tight fit as well. We were really surprised of how long the water stayed hot too, which shows how thick the SS material really is. Now to be honest, we did have an issue that we felt needed to be addressed. OMG, we contacted McSunley and Rep. Chris contacted us within under 3 hours and resolved our issue. In my book, this is how you take care of your customers. Thank you Chris and McSunley.
