I positively love the gray color, it is the perfect shade. The white numbers are very large and work extremely well against the gray. I needed a clock for my living room and wanted to match the other items the same color on the wall and this is perfect. The finish of the face is very nice and smooth with no imperfections. Looks like the numbers are stickers and not paint. The wood is very thin almost like particle board or could be which is fine for a clock hanging on the wall. I did appreciate how the hands are secured with a plastic protective cover for shipping. They do appear to be made from real wood and add a nice contrast to the clock. I got rid of my last clock because you could hear it clicking all over the house. This clock solves that problem mostly because it doesn't have a second hand to tick. I synchronized it with a digital clock and it keeps exact time. And I like the look of it - just a simple modern looking face. I picked up two different clocks before I got this one. I was looking for a new clock to sit off to the side of my family room TV. The first two were too hard to read and had an awful reflective surface. They were too distracting. This one was perfect for my needs. The clock doesn't make noise. It is keeping accurate time. I like the wood hand on this click, and that it stands out from the wall just slightly. The numbers are flat and printed on the face, but it looks elegant, not cheap.
