Should I Buy It?

Yes, if you're looking for an alarm clock that provides a soothing, natural wake-up experience with options for sound and light, this product is a great choice. Although it has minor flaws, the benefits, especially at its price point, make it a compelling option for anyone wanting to improve their morning routine.

  • Beautiful clock
The brightness is a great gradient, and the sunlight color is much more natural than some sunset lamps I've used before. You don't have to fight with the annoying RGB colors; it's just the sunlight color. It's a relatively light clock, but it's a sturdy build and of great quality. The assembly was slightly confusing and took me a moment, but it's pretty straight forward if you're not Gen Z and have rarely used and programed a nightstand alarm clock. The volume ranges from nonexistent to obnoxious, which is wonderful. I can use the alarm clock without disturbing my partner, who is *not* a morning person and startles easily in their sleep. In the same vein, the alarm's brightness ranges from barely there to midday-afternoon-bright. This makes it possible to set alarms that are either sound or light only. The display can be dimmed as one of the 3 options. It's bright enough to see but not bright enough to bother you. It's also an orange color, so it's not as jarring as, say, blue or green. But my favorite is that you can turn the display off entirely. There is a sunset setting that lets you have a countdown with the light to help you wind down. It's very nice. There's a USB port in the back for input, but I'm not sure how that works or what it's for. Overall, great sunrise/sunset clock for the price. It's extremely attractive, easy to set up and use and extremely helpful as an alarm. ... show more

  • Best cure for seasonal saddies
Immediately bought a second one to put one on either end of my little house. In the winter time, this is literally the only thing that helps me get out of bed - it really does simulate the rising sun, the light is lovely. And in the summer it's nice to set the dimmer lights in the evening to tell my brain it's time to go to bed. The only criticism I can think of is that the audio settings are only a few seconds long, so they can be a bit repetitive, but there are plenty of setting options. But seriously, I use both of these every single day, huge quality of life improvement! ... show more

  • Great Dupe for Hatch Alarm Clock!
This alarm clock does the job. Itโ€™s pretty easy to install, has multiple sound options (birds chirping, ocean waves, etc), and increases light at a gradient for a slow and natural wake up. This clock definitely gets me up in the morning. The โ€œnight modeโ€ is quite relaxing as well; I love putting it on a 1 hour timer with cricket sounds. My boyfriend was shocked when I told him they werenโ€™t actual crickets from outside! The one complaint I have with this clock is the length of its sounds. The sounds replay after only a few seconds, ultimately making them annoying to listen to after some time. In addition, the clock isnโ€™t as aesthetically pleasing as the Hatch Alarm Clock, as itโ€™s made of plastic. However, for the price point, this clock is a stellar deal, and still looks pretty cool (especially the wooden one!). If youโ€™re interested in getting a sunrise alarm clock and have considered the Hatch, Iโ€™d recommend you give this one a try. Itโ€™s easy to install, works well, and looks sleek and modern. ... show more

  • Best Value Sunrise Alarm Clock
The media could not be loaded. I bought the alarm clock labeled "Brown" or the ACA-002-B model. This specific model is the best value out of all the sunrise alarm clocks in the $20-50 range. I actually prefer this one instead of the more expensive brands. Also, this alarm clock is the color white and not brown at all. PROS: -You have two alarm options. This is fairly standard with the JALL alarm clocks, but I think it's helpful to call out. I like to set two alarms in case I want to sleep in another half hour/hour. -The sound quality is very good with this one. It sounds much clearer than the very popular JALL K8 version. -The sound options themselves are really nice, and they continue playing for a while before the sound restarts and repeats itself again. That was what made me return the K8 version; the sounds would play for 3 seconds and then restart again, so it was incredibly repetitive and a bit annoying. With this model, it feels more relaxing and I really feel like I'm waking up with birds chirping out my window. -The brightest setting to wake up to is pretty bright. It's almost a white light with a pale yellow hue. I use blackout curtains in my room and with the brightest light setting, I do feel like it is bright enough to wake me up. -When it's in waking up mode, the light and sounds fade in very gently and it's not overbearing. It's a very gentle wake up yet I definitely wouldn't sleep through the alarm. CONS: -For this model, setting the time and alarms is slightly more difficult to maneuver compared to the K8 model (you need to hold down one button and then click abother button to get to the time setting). You definitely need to skim the first page of the manual to see which buttons to click, however, I was able to get it after 30 seconds and then it was easy from there. It also comes with sticker labels in case you want to label the function of each of the buttons. Bottom line, this "con" is not nearly enough to make me rank this model below the K8. Hands down, my favorite affordable sunrise alarm clock. ... show more
