I have a miniature schnauzer who is now 12 years old (but still going strong), and I've been handling his grooming for the last 4 years. The other day I was watching an online video on grooming a schnauzer's face, and the groomer was using one of these Wahl Bravura clippers. I'd been doing OK with a corded Oster clipper, but never really liked it; it's too big for a dog the size of mine (who weighs about 22lb.), you can't get into tight areas very well, it gets quite hot, etc. Now I wish I'd bought this one years ago. The cordless feature is much more convenient than I'd expected; it is much lighter than the Oster and thus much easier to reposition as I move from one side of a leg to the other, etc. Also the blade is adjustable --I use a middle setting for most of his body, and the shortest setting for areas I really want to shave (his arm pits...leg pits...? hmm... ). It is very quiet, much quieter than the Oster, and it does not heat up as much. The cut is very clean and uniform. All in all, this is clearly a professional tool, but even for an amateur like me, it's worthwhile (you figure it pays for itself relative to using a groomer in maybe 3 months). I have a Persian who has ultra fine, fluffy angora-like fur. He has a neurological problem so he doesn’t groom himself, won’t let you groom him for more than a minute or two, and develops dense, tightly matted hairballs right up against the skin in his arm/leg pits and on his butt. This clipper was amazing. I didn’t have to repeatedly go over the same swath, or hold the fur or hairball taut to clip it off. Clipper didn’t clog or bog. Very satisfied. ... show more

1. They don't heat up like other clippers. 2. They work great on my 2 Standard Poodles. One with fine hair and one with course hair. 3. The battery lasts a long time after charging. 4. The quietest clippers I've ever had by a large margin.

I have a miniature schnauzer and I tried several brans and trimmers and all of them hurts my dogs skin. This one is amazing. Smooth and the most important very silent so she doesn’t get scare with the noise. Battery life is great. Love love love this trimmer!

Light and easy to use! I use it for clean up work and on thinner coats and its smooth as butter! On more denser coats the battery might have a shorter life in between charges.

    • Excellent for long haired cats.
My cat is a rag doll. He doesn't liked to be brushed so I have to cut his hair short. These clippers are so quiet that I clipped him while he ate. The clippers went through his long fine fur like a hot knife through butter. Love them. Worth every penny.
