I don't use this often but when I do, it's a workhorse. I get around a half hour to 45 min of steam before I have to refill it. It has several different attachments for your needs and fires out the steam forcefully. It's easy to use and compact in size to move it around somewhat easily. You just have do deal with the hose and power cord. It works great on my sliding glass door track at loosening up weathered dirt/grit that accumulates and makes the door slide more smoothly. I also use it in the bathroom on the shower pan and around the sinks. Steam pretty much kills everything so that's another bonus where you won't need chemicals ... show more

I haven't used a steam cleaner since I was 17. It looked like a mini Zamboni for cleaning floors, when I was a student at Northfield Mt Hermon school , and it was my job. And when I went to work summers there. I didn't know how small it was. But good things come in small packages. I've been a bachelor for 25 years. I came home to care for my Mother 20 years ago. She kept the house neat as long as she could. I was a Factory Rep, long hours on the road, 200-400 miles a day. House work wasn't my bag, Dad. When she passed I worked even more. After 10-12 hours, who wants to do housework? Now I'm retired, for the 2nd time. This place is a mess. I need help. So I bought this. The bath is horrible. I take a shower. I go out, do a little yard work, go do some photography, go for a long bike ride. Take a shower. My Daughter needs a place to live for a while, so I told her Sure! "Can you clean the bath?" So, I bought this. Who cares what the bath looks like, as long as I'm clean? It took over three hours. I'd fill it and wait 10 minutes for it to heat up till the light went off. At 40 ounces it has one of the biggest tanks and a good rating. Of course I did it on the hottest days of the month. in the end, it was worth it. She came in to help with cleaning, took a look at the bath, and said "WOW! It's a snap to use, but as some people have said, it's hard on your hand to hold the trigger. I have strong hands, and after the full 40 minutes it wore me down. Then there's a 30 minute wait until your next session. The results are worth it. This is a 61 year old bathtub with little care. The black spots need to be filled in with grout repair. But it needs more than one microfiber cloth for the "clothes steamer", what I used to clean the tiles and the tub. 5 would be nice. And the large floor brush runs the steam down fast. You have to stop and wait to get full power. And the "large" brushes are tiny. 4 inches would be nice. My next attack will be the 30 year old No Wax floor in the kitchen. Watch this space, it's coming tomorrow. Oh, and I also bought distilled water at the grocery. Distilled water is $1.49 a gallon. White vinegar is $2.99 a gallon, and requires a 30 minute cleaning time if you use tap water. I prefer using the time to ride my bicycles. After 3 hours cleaning time, I've used 1/3 gallon. ... show more

This canister style steam cleaner got its first workout yesterday, and it performed very well. I used distilled water, and followed the instructions about giving it time to warm up. Once the orange light went out, it was ready. I pulled the trigger and WOW! So much steam that you had to wait for it to clear before you could see past it! I used the round nylon brush on the grout between the floor tiles in our walk-in shower. With few passes of steam & elbow grease, I was really surprised how well the steamer did at cleaning the grout. I used the angled narrow attachment to spray the shower head nozzles, and it did a good job clearing some that were clogged by mineral deposits from our water supply. The 40 oz tank capacity lasts quite a while, but when it runs out, you need to let it cool down 30 minutes before you can go again. I think this is because it gets really hot (you can feel the heat in the steam hose). I used the steamer 3 times, letting it rest 30 minutes in between each use. It worked great every time, with no pauses in the steam flow. The power cord is heavy duty and very long. I estimate its about 17 or 18 feet long. There is on-board storage for the smaller attachments, but the plastic lid is not well designed. When I first opened the package and inspected the steam, the lid came off the hinges when I opened it. It was a little bit difficult to get the lid back onto plastic hinges correctly. Knowing that this is a plastic body that will get hot from each use, I expect the plastic hinges will also get brittle over time; only time will tell. Complaints? None. Suggestions? Yes. I wish more attachments were made for this unit, like a small flat scrapper to work soap scum off tiles, or some kind of small brush that can fit into tight shower corners. Finally, I'll tell you to use ear protection if you're using the unit in the house. When the unit ran out of steam, I noticed my hearing was weakened - very much like when I'd leave the arena where I just heard a rock concert. You don't notice how it's affecting your hearing until it's over. ... show more
