I've been after the loose beach curl look for YEARS. God knows how many curing irons and flat irons I've tried. The best success I've had, prior to this curler, was with the Conair Unbound Beauty in Motion (pictured next to the curler) . I like the curls the Unbound Beauty in Motion curler makes, but the barrel is sligtly smaller in diameter, so they are tighter than the curls made with this curling iron (which has a 1" barrel) . I prefer the curls made by this curling iron! They are a true beach curl! The curling iron is easy to use because it's cordless! My stylist recommended the Beach Waver, but I just didn't like the idea of a cord. I travel frequently and need something easier to use on the road. The curling iron comes with a USB type cord, and actually the cords between both these Conair products are interchangeable, which is a plus. My only slight cons on the curling iron are that it's easy to accidentally push the button that selects the temperature while using the iron (but this seems to have no effect on the temperature setting, once you've initially selected it). Other than that, with my shoulder length hair there isn't a lot of length on the barrel to wrap the hair if you have really long hair. (I get about three wraps with the hair spaced about 2cm apart.) I'm pretty challenged when it comes to using curling irons, but this curling iron is really easy to use. Although it doesn't automatically wrap the hair, (like the Beach Waver), I don't think it makes the process any more challenging- because you're not dealing with cords! My hair is pretty fine, so the charge is enough for me to style my whole head of hair, but if you have really long, thick hair, duration of the charge could make that a bit of a challenge. Overall, I am SO happy I opted for this product over the Beach Waver turning barrel product with a cord. It's less than half the price, easy to use, and makes that loose, beach curl look perfectly! It never worked. It is a total piece of junk. Sure, it charged up but with a different cord than supplied but even charged it never worked, never got hit. Also the barrel/wand clamp thingy is super short. I never got to make a curl but my thought is that would be a pain in the €%# to actually use.

I tried a few types of cordless iron and I’m very pleased with this one. We travel and camp a lot, and sometimes, even if I’m in comfy clothes, I still like to add some polish to my look, so this hair curler was spot on. Good heat and ease of use. Charge time was fine and could be plugged in to recharge in the car if needed. Price was a little higher than some, but the quality, reliability and features are worth it. I like the heat-proof bag so it protects the surfaces it’s on, and goes into after use, to keep travel safe. Great buy! ... show more

This unit was the second received. The first would not hold a charge and was exchanged. Pro: Fast heat-up Con: the 'blade' that holds down your hair is very short! Normal curling irons have a hair blade that extends nearly to the end of the wand, while this unit for some reason has a blade that only extends about 1/3 of the distance. This is an easily correctable defect in design and the major shortcoming of this product but make using it much more inconvenient than it need be. I'm so happy with this purchase. I bought this ahead of a trip to Europe to try and outsmart the voltage issue, and it was a huge success. It charges via USB so all you need is to plug your charging unit into a plug adapter. Then its fully charged, doesn't need to be plugged in, and you can use anytime/anywhere. I have long hair and the barrel is a bit shorter than I'd prefer, but it worked perfectly. I got great curls, that lasted all day. I also love the cordless feature because you don't get all tangled up in cords while curling. Please note you can't pack in checked in luggage due to ion battery so it should go in carryon. Overall love this product and purchase, will take it everywhere with me (domestic and international) because so easy and convenient to use. The first time I used it seemed to work. Bought it to take on a trip. So I tried it again, it does not work. Charged it overnight. Turned it on, set the temp, it starts to get hot and then it turns off. I did this over and over again. It does not work. I tried to send it back but I was 5 days too late. Such waste of money. It was a little tricky at first- the power button is on the bottom of the curling wand- and definitely charge it out of the travel bag and packaging before you need to use it! But wow! The clip is better than my regular curling iron. The heat is great. The convenience is wonderful! I had been shopping for a travel curling iron for a while and didn't want to buy something and then have to return it. I am so glad this curling iron works! I've even charged it in the car via the usb cord. And one charge gave two-touch ups. I recommend so far! ... show more
