This can be bolted to the trailer to provide a secure anchor point for pulling our boat out of the water. I'll be able to lift easily in and out of the water thanks to the 8 to 1 gearing. I'll be able to successfully lower the boat down into the water using the winch, which can be used with the strap going both forward and backward. The nylon webbed strap is around 2 1/2 inches wide and rated to support up to 3200 pounds, which will easily pull my boat out of the water. It won't rust because it's zinc plated steel, which means it won't rust if it gets wet, which is most likely in my application.

I bought this to help me hook up my loaded 6x10 trailer to my tow hitch. I took off sometime from working on renovating my house, so I haven’t had to use it yet. This is a well built hand winch. The metals appears to be very rust resistant. The web is soft but strong. I bought this 1 month ago. I used it once to put my boat back on the trailer and it broke a gear tooth and the handle nut went flying off of it. It is now totally unusable. I am scared that I towed my boat down the road with this thing. It also unwinds the strap as the boat puts any tension on it. I don’t power load my boat due to the ramp conditions. But this thing isn’t of any reasonable quality and is dangerous. Thank God I have a safety chain!! Do not buy this cheep garbage!!! Buyer beware!!

This winch has a free wheel setting in the middle. The free wheel function on mine was not good it gets stuck and does not turn freely. I had to reset the main winch spool to make some space between the gears. The product quality control is lacking.

I opened up the box and first thing I did was slice my finger on an extremely sharp edge on the drum. A few places on the body were sharp to, I had to grind the edges down before I mounted it. When you shake it it rattles some so we will see how long it lasts. It does not feel like the best quality but it is much better than what I did have.

I am building my own trailer for a 25 foot boat and i have been looking for a trailer winch and i came across this winch. It is heavy duty i really recommend it. I greased it up with salt water grease so it can protect it. I used it for the first time And it was so smooth to use and very strong. It pulled the boat out to water not having to use any force.

2000 lb boat and the teeth are slipping. Slips by two or three teeth every time I pull the boat. Disappointing that my boat is nowhere near the max weight.
