  • Great winch!
Size Name: 13000LBS
Installed on my car trailer 3 years ago. Has been an incredible piece of equipment. Pulled a 1984 crown Victoria with two flat tires and rear brakes locked up onto my trailer with no effort. Has pulled countless vehicles with no issues. Still using the original rope too.

  • Best purchase in my opinion
Size Name: 9500LBS
4years post purchase -heavy use- combined with a heavy duty two inch receiver basket. I've used this product alongside, and out performing, top name brands for 4 years now. Still on the original synthetic cable, all though it needs replaced now, I've pulled conaxes, trucks light duty and heavy duty, I have pulled large mud rigs out of deep situations and even took down a 50foot ham radio tower. After I got a feeling for the winch I never doubted it's capability. 4 years down the road, I'm installing new wireless controller due to losing the original, I'm also replacing the wired controller due to wear. It's been 4 years and I've finally taken off the solenoid cover and found why it's lasted so long. This thing is overbuilt, which is how I like it. It's amazing construction for the price and a must-have for anyone looking for an affordable, heavy duty, winch whether you're starting out or just putting something on a trailer. Mind you many of my heavier loads, I've snatched or double snatched. Being conscious and smart about it's load and use. However, this is probably the best money spent for a similar product. ... show more

  • Great winch *if* adequately supplied with lots of amps
Size Name: 13000LBS
I have a flatbed trailer that is used to transport vehicles with all of their wheels off the ground. To load the vehicle onto the trailer I have to remove two large pins in the front and the entire bed of the trailer tilts downward. I then use one of these winches at the front to pull the vehicle up onto the angled bed and once it reaches a certain point and its travel, gravity then causes the front of the vehicle and trailer bed to drop down to a level position and then one reinserts the pins to secure it. These winches work great, however you must have a very good and strong 12 volt power supply. If not, the winch will deceive you in sounding and appearing like it is working at full strength, but it will struggle to pull a relatively light vehicle up a ramp. For instance, I have a Ford Expedition with a 150 amp alternator. To supply voltage to the winch, I was using Heavy Duty 4 gauge jumper wire cables that are 16 ft in length to go from the truck's battery to the rear of the vehicle where the winch is, and I simply clamped onto the thick power cables of the winch's control box. Unfortunately, I have found that this is simply not enough amperage. It is possible that Ultra Heavy Duty 2 gauge jumpers might do the trick, but my solution for now is to have a spare battery in the cargo area of the vehicle which clamps onto the winch's power box. The cables with jumper clips leading from this extra battery are only a foot in length, so the voltage deterioration is negligible. In fact, the winch works like a charm purely powered from this battery alone without the advent of the higher voltage alternator of the Expedition in the circuit, however to conserve how much power is drained from the extra battery, I run the jumper cables from the Expedition battery to the extra battery and then the small cables from the extra battery to the winch. This reduces greatly the number of times that I have to charge the extra battery outside of the vehicle, because though the winch is draining more amperage during its operation than the long jumper cables from the Expedition battery can deliver, the Expedition jumper cables are charging the extra battery during the course of the entire operation. The 4 star (opposed to 5) rating is because one of solenoid/relays inside the power box burned out. Fortunately, for under $40, I was able to order two of them, though not from Amazon or the winch manufacturer (which irritated me). It was a medium-level task to replace it, but now it's going well. ... show more

  • Seems to be a great product
Size Name: 9500LBS
Of course time will tell if this winch will have been a good choice. I'm not exactly a fan of how the rope attaches to the spool, but I can avoid that issue by using more straps if I need length. The winch was super easy to put together and install. Everything works as it should. I actually laugh at some of the questions that were asked on this product ad. The wireless remote does not need to be programed folks. My only complaint up to this point is that the rubber piece that covers the input for the wired remote does not stay closed and frequently pops open, exposing the plug prongs to the elements. With this plug sitting on top of the winch it seems like you would want a more quality piece of something there to make sure that stays closed, especially since this winch wires directly to the battery. We don't want water to collect and pool inside of there during a carwash or rainy day. ... show more

  • Can't complain great winch for the price
Size Name: 13000LBS
I ordered one of these to put on my tilt deck car trailer I use primarily for hauling derby cars. It bolted right up to the existing winch plate that came on the trailer with no modification. Hardware it came with was good quality. Took a little sleuthing to figure out the wiring because my particular winch was sent with a manual for an older model that used an external wireless receiver and different color coding on the wires. But once I realized that I was able to sort it out with very few additional issues. The line speed of the winch is pretty good for a 13k winch. The synthetic rope is lightweight and flexible so you don't have to fight it if you have to run out a reasonable length of it. I drug the pictured car onto the trailer without a fight. Just drug a non running 1 ton 70s pickup onto the trailer with it as well without struggle using a partially charged battery. The wireless controls work as they should so you can operate the winch from the drivers seat of a vehicle. Other than the vague and outdated manual I was provided with I have no complaints. It works probably a little better than I expected for the price actually ... show more
