  • Great winch!
Installed on my car trailer 3 years ago. Has been an incredible piece of equipment. Pulled a 1984 crown Victoria with two flat tires and rear brakes locked up onto my trailer with no effort. Has pulled countless vehicles with no issues. Still using the original rope too.

  • Can't complain great winch for the price
I ordered one of these to put on my tilt deck car trailer I use primarily for hauling derby cars. It bolted right up to the existing winch plate that came on the trailer with no modification. Hardware it came with was good quality. Took a little sleuthing to figure out the wiring because my particular winch was sent with a manual for an older model that used an external wireless receiver and different color coding on the wires. But once I realized that I was able to sort it out with very few additional issues. The line speed of the winch is pretty good for a 13k winch. The synthetic rope is lightweight and flexible so you don't have to fight it if you have to run out a reasonable length of it. I drug the pictured car onto the trailer without a fight. Just drug a non running 1 ton 70s pickup onto the trailer with it as well without struggle using a partially charged battery. The wireless controls work as they should so you can operate the winch from the drivers seat of a vehicle. Other than the vague and outdated manual I was provided with I have no complaints. It works probably a little better than I expected for the price actually ... show more

  • Pleasantly surprised
I'm always needing a winch around my farm to pull trucks, tractors, etc. out of the mud, drag logs, load cars onto my trailer, and so forth. The old winch I had picked up used about 20 years ago finally gave up so I was looking for a replacement that didn't cost a fortune. I was looking at the 12,000# winch at Harbor Freight but found this winch with a discount code that made it MUCH less expensive than even the HF winch so I decided to give it a try. I mounted it in a receiver hitch mount so I can swap it from vehicle to vehicle as needed plus I have a receiver tube welded on the front of my trailer so I can put the winch in it to load cars onto the trailer. Setup was pretty simple, just connect the wires to the relay box and mount the relay box to the winch frame. The first time I used it was to load a 1988 F350 Dually Diesel that had been sitting so long the front wheels were seized. That meant that not only was I having to pull the truck up onto the trailer, with the front wheels seized it was dead weight that I was having to drag. I was able to winch it onto the trailer with now problems at all! Since then I have used this winch several times and it continues to impress. I definitely feel like this winch was money well spent and have recommended it to several of my friends. ... show more

  • Great winch *if* adequately supplied with lots of amps
I have a flatbed trailer that is used to transport vehicles with all of their wheels off the ground. To load the vehicle onto the trailer I have to remove two large pins in the front and the entire bed of the trailer tilts downward. I then use one of these winches at the front to pull the vehicle up onto the angled bed and once it reaches a certain point and its travel, gravity then causes the front of the vehicle and trailer bed to drop down to a level position and then one reinserts the pins to secure it. These winches work great, however you must have a very good and strong 12 volt power supply. If not, the winch will deceive you in sounding and appearing like it is working at full strength, but it will struggle to pull a relatively light vehicle up a ramp. For instance, I have a Ford Expedition with a 150 amp alternator. To supply voltage to the winch, I was using Heavy Duty 4 gauge jumper wire cables that are 16 ft in length to go from the truck's battery to the rear of the vehicle where the winch is, and I simply clamped onto the thick power cables of the winch's control box. Unfortunately, I have found that this is simply not enough amperage. It is possible that Ultra Heavy Duty 2 gauge jumpers might do the trick, but my solution for now is to have a spare battery in the cargo area of the vehicle which clamps onto the winch's power box. The cables with jumper clips leading from this extra battery are only a foot in length, so the voltage deterioration is negligible. In fact, the winch works like a charm purely powered from this battery alone without the advent of the higher voltage alternator of the Expedition in the circuit, however to conserve how much power is drained from the extra battery, I run the jumper cables from the Expedition battery to the extra battery and then the small cables from the extra battery to the winch. This reduces greatly the number of times that I have to charge the extra battery outside of the vehicle, because though the winch is draining more amperage during its operation than the long jumper cables from the Expedition battery can deliver, the Expedition jumper cables are charging the extra battery during the course of the entire operation. The 4 star (opposed to 5) rating is because one of solenoid/relays inside the power box burned out. Fortunately, for under $40, I was able to order two of them, though not from Amazon or the winch manufacturer (which irritated me). It was a medium-level task to replace it, but now it's going well. ... show more

  • 4 years later and still going strong!
I purchased this for my husband's Bronco December 2021 and I am happy to report the thing is still working just as good as the day it was installed. I purposely waited to review as I wanted to see if it would hold up and I am happy to report to my suprise it has! Had to order a replacement cable today but that is to be expected after almost 4 years of use. ... show more

  • DO NOT BUY!!!!!JUNK!!!!!!!!!!
HORRIBLE WINCH! DO NOT BUY! Wouldn’t let me not give it a star. Used this winch for a matter of half an hour pulling a couple small logs only pulled four times and the winch burnt out! Even tried a new solenoid but the one they sell that is the “replacement” wasn’t the correct one. Customer service was none through manufacturer. Tried to called, number was disconnected, tried emailing, email came back. Luckily Amazon was able to help me with customer support. Save your money and headache and get a better brand(ended up going with a badland from harbor freight which has worked awesome). ... show more
