  • Price was good. How long will it last?
Pros: Reasonable price. All adjustments are there, I especially like the push button/lockable depth guide. There is an adapter for an edge guide. But no actuall edge guide. Luckily I have an edge guide that works. There is a dust shield. Not much to go wrong, should last a good while. Cons: No instruction/guide of any sort. Nothing, zilch, nada. It is assumed the router will have a verticle grove for alignment that fits the pin in the base. Ad claims customer service can be contacted. There is no link or info on how to contact customer service. There are a screws and threaded holes but no information about their use (use above). While there is a dust shield, it is on the opposite side from the operator. There is no dust port. Overall happy with purchase. It looks I will have to make a base plate that will hold template guides. Using templates is the main reason I bought this plunge base. The base has a small pin right above the locking/retaining lever. The purpose is to fit into a vertical groove in the router. The pin is to keep keep the router from turning in the base. That pin interfers with sliding the router into the base. Luckily it does not take much force to push the pin out far enough to allow the router to fit the base. It now takes a manual alignment, easy to do. Now if I could just come up with the customer service info. I have a couple of questions. The First One is: the purpose of the two 5mm screws on the bottom of the base. It looks like they might retain a plate or circle inside the center opening in the base. But what? Is it an adapter for temple guides? Number Two: There are two threaded holes under the base plate. What are they for? Number Three: Are there any attachments or adapters that use the threaded holes and screws that have no identified purpose? Number Four: This really should be question Number One, how to contact customer service? ... show more

  • Nicely made and compatible
This plunge base is basically identical to the Makita plunge base model 196094-2 minus the Makita logo and a black indicator rather than a red one. Another reviewer mention the lack of documentation and that's true but Makita doesn't provide any either. The same reviewer mentioned the two screws on the bottom. Their purpose is to secure a template guide adaptor such as Makita model 321492-3 90A which fits the base very nicely and uses standard universal 2-piece template guides. My Metabo 18v trim router fits in the base very well and snugs up nicely. ... show more

  • Plunge action sticks and poor quality build.
I bought this for my Makita battery powered trim rout and I hoped this was as good as the name brand. I was very disappointed when I received it. The plunging action would stick due to poor tolerances and the machining was very poor and uneven. It is cheaper than the name brand because it is of very poor quality. I returned it and paid the extra for the Makita version which I received today and functions very well. ... show more

  • Perfecta
Teniendo en cuenta que no es una base original de alguna de las marcas reconocidas de enrutadores, esta bien construida, buenos agarres, orificio amplio y biene con su guia extra para ajustar otra guia de bordes.
