Generally, small, portable safes are not meant to be theft proof as they can be stolen and then opened at a thief's leisure. These type safes are meant to just impede the casual opportunist, the curious or, perhaps to keep certain items away from children. As a portable deterrent this safe will meet ones needs. It is relatively sturdy and has three ways to open: key, 6-digit combination and Biometrics (plus a USB cord to provide power to the interface in case the batteries have died). While it is a decent safe, I cannot rate this higher (3.5 star) since other safes I own, at a similar price, are more robust and work slightly better. PRO --- Overall, a decent, solid portable safe to house your valuables in. Setup is easy but, requires 3 AAA batteries (not included) --- 99 unique fingerprints to use so different people can register multiple fingerprints (in case a finger is dirty or wet you can use another). --- 99 different 6-digit pass codes available for multiple people, unlike some that have only ONE. --- Large enough to store a full size 92FS and one MAG in addition to a few other valuables such as passports, jewelry etc, --- Security cable is good quality with a smooth PVC type covering but, it is rather thin. However, unlike other products, this is inserted through a hole and screwed on instead of having a slot where you slide the end into. This is a plus for me but, if traveling you will have to unscrew it each time you move it rather than just disconnect the cable by opening the lid. --- Strong metal box: 0.07 (1.9mm) approximately 15-gauge metal Neutral: --- Hinges, with pins, on the EXTERIOR which can be punched out (or drilled), are located on the exterior rear. --- While the front and sides have lips that prohibit/inhibit prying, the rear corners are not protected and can be pried up. --- Requires a 6-digit code (does not allow 4 - 6 digit) which is time consuming and harder to remember. In a stressful situation, it takes a bit of time and you must press each number solidly for it to work. --- Biometrics is adequate/SO-SO and, while it works, a quick touch will not activate the lock. You must press firmly on the reader for about 1/2 to 1-second before it will be recognized and open --- While the light is a nice touch for accessing items in the safe in the dark, it is placed low (toward the bottom) on the left side so, if anything obstructs it, the light will not illuminate the interior.

This gun safe is super easy to use and I like the fact that I can program in multiple fingerprints. It also has battery and type-c plug-in option so that it'll always have battery if needed. That is a piece of mind that was a very nice feature to have. Also it comes with a key so just in case you lock yourself out of it you'll always be able to get back in and reprogram. Another nice detail is the LED light inside so when you open it in a dark space you'll always be able to see inside. For the price this was a great purchase.

Compact and easy to use. Fingerprint unlock is quick and reliable, and the keypad is a good backup. Fits well in a drawer or car and feels solid for the size. Good peace of mind for travel or bedside storage.

Pretty standard single pistol safe. I do like that it has the fingerprint ready, since it speeds up the unlocking process, and definitely a fan of having a key backup. The foam is kind of weak inside and was coming loose when I first opened it but not really a big deal as long as the safe stays stationary. It looks nice though! And should provide a good first layer safety storage for a firearm in the house. Definitely portable, but again, I would probably replace the foam if I were to bring in my car with something a bit more substantial. The USB l-c backup if batteries die is kind of nice though and the reason for 4 stars not 3z
