this is a fantastic gun safe for its price and the fingerprint sensor is very accurate and fast. I do wish you could use a 4-digit code instead of 6 but with a key and fingerprint that was not a deal breaker. I now own 3 of these, 2 for guns and one for some random sentimental items. they perform flawlessly every time. I'm confident in this safe that if I ever have an intruder, I'm a split second from my protection. So handy and so easy to set up and open. I have 4 of them now. I have had 1 for well over a year and use it almost daily and the battery life is impressive. I have one on my nightstand with emergency protection, as well as one in my office for the same reason. then I have another in my office for credit/debit cards and sensitive easy to steal items. then I have one hidden with all my spare keys in it. A biometric gun safe is supposed to open quickly, silently and reliably. If you need to get to the contents in the middle of the night or in a stressful moment, you shouldn’t be worrying about whether the batteries decided to die at the wrong time. That’s why I really like what Holewor did here. Instead of overthinking the problem, they added one simple feature that makes a huge difference: an external USB power port. They call it an “emergency” power option, but I just leave it plugged in all the time. Now the safe always has power, and I never have to wonder if it’s going to open when I reach for it. It’s such an easy fix, but it completely removes the biggest worry with battery-powered safes. Smart idea, well executed. Code pad is easy to use. The fingerprint reader works reliably. What else would one want from a handgun safe?

I originally got this for my father as a gift but after setting it up for him I saw how well made and nice it was so I bought one for myself too! If I had any criticisms they’re such minor things that I still have to give it 5 stars! Here are the minor cons if you can even call them that, they’re really just preferences: 1.) The swing-open speed is so powerful when it’s unlocked that it can move the entire gun safe back a little cause the weight isn’t heavy where the hinge is but it doesn’t bother me at all just an observation. 2.) there’s no way to make the numbers glow before entering the passcode so when you’re in a pitch black room you have to first feel the buttons and hope you got the correct first passcode number entered otherwise it will register your first attempt as incorrect which makes you take a little longer opening it in an emergency, this issue could be a problem but hopefully you are smart enough to practice opening it quick anyway so as long as you’re the type to have emergency practice drills you’ll be fine. In the same category of light, I’d prefer the lights to stay on a little longer after opening to allow for proper visibility inside to make it easier to see the gun, ammunition and spare magazines while preparing the gun or at the least seeing everything available for a quicker response. Even if it just gave us a light on timer choice like 3 seconds/5 seconds/10 seconds et cetera. Not a big deal but would’ve been nice. 3.) This one I actually don’t mind at all but I’m sure there are some people who would have at least preferred the option, the clock only shows in Military time which is easy to figure out but I can see it being annoying for some. Other than those little things this gun safe is perfect for what I needed it for and I enjoy using it very much! So well made and I even gently took off the letters with my fingernails to give it a fully matte black finished look so that when people who visit my father see it on his nightstand next to the bed they won’t be able to look up the company and know for sure that it’s a gun safe, I prefer that awareness to be at his own personal discretion. This was all my very long winded way of saying buy this product I highly recommend it!

These are more of a method of slowing down an attempt at theft than a gun “safe”. It wouldn’t take very long with a small pry bar to tear the top right off, but you would make a lot of noise doing so. Good for under a flip up truck seat or in a closet. Very easy to program and the fingerprint reader works well. I like the interior lighting. Good for a full size 1911 with a couple extra magazines, or a pair of compact size handguns.
