My son is 9 and he’s on the shorter side. The gloves were too small for his hands to fit and the bag has him punching downwards at its highest height. This is better for much younger kids. Perhaps 6 at the oldest. Otherwise, this is a good product for the price. Easy to assemble. Durable enough.

I got this for my 5 year old nephew for Christmas and boy was I in way over my head.. I didn’t know my nephew was going to go full WWE on this punching bag. If your kid doesn’t think they are punching to save their life then I would get this item. If your kid goes to town with a boxing glove then I’d look elsewhere. The quality isn’t bad for a starter but if you punch it or kick it too hard the whole thing starts wobbling really bad ... show more

This punching bag is really a cool product and my 7 year old son enjoys using it. Here are the pros and cons... Pros - easy to assemble, good height, filled base with water and it has not leaked at all even though my son has knocked it over and moved it around several times. Cons - one if the seams was already coming apart upon opening the box and after two weeks is now widely open as seen in the photo, have had to fill the bag with air once in two weeks, boxing gloves that came with kit are a bit tight. Overall...my son really likes this punching bag and gets a ton of energy out by using it, so I have dealt with the seam coming apart because he still can use the product. ... show more

    • Great toy overall but needs some improvement
My 6 year old loves this! We bought it after another one broke within 5 minutes of using it. It seems fairly durable. It’s held up for a month now. The seams on the punching ball part seems a little weak but so far they’re holding up. We’ll see how it does with time. Also there’s a pinprick hole in the stand part we found it the hard way after putting water in it to keep it sturdy. It needs something (sand or water) to keep it still and stable while punching it. We haven’t put anything else in it but plan to fill it with sand and try to patch the hole with tape or putty to prevent it from leaking. ... show more

    • Easy assembly, great product
Very easy to assemble & great gift for my 8 year old son. The only negative to it is that you should really tighten the top pole to the bottom (perhaps with pliers). My son punched the top bit clean off including the pole within the first hour. But after we tightened it down with tools, it's remained secure ever since. Also, we had issues trying to remove the plug from the base in order to fill it with water. We had to push it in & can't retrieve it. But it doesn't affect the effectiveness of the toy. And make sure to pump plenty of air into the bag. It's a great gift, especially for the price. I would recommend it. ... show more

Bought 2. Thought it would be great for visiting grandsons, 7 and 3.9 to let out some energy. 7 yr old lost interest quickly and 3.5 yr wanted to punch his brother and other things. Not the easiest to assemble but nice try Mimi! :)
