Not the most impressive case. I with enough for e you can probably bust it open with a hammer. But it's good enough for traveling where local new jersey law says firearms need to be locked up. Also this is good for small ccw style pistols. This fits my Glock 43x, but not my Glock 17 with light and red dot. 🤷♂️ ... show more

Is as described. Metal 16 gauge body with 12 gauge side reinforcements / lock structure. Design would keep a child out, and the cable would prevent simple smash and grab theft. Hinge retaining rod can be tapped out in seconds, allowing lock to be bypassed. Hinge is secured with 4 tiny spot welds. Lock is a simple file cabinet type with tiny weak metal finger holding it shut. Lock could be torqued out in seconds, prybar could rip the hinge / lock finger apart easily. Cable easily cut by any wire cutter. The box itself is sturdy. A good value. Reinforcing the hinge with bolts and a plate, switching the cable for a heavier duty bike type, and ditching the lock for a long neck padlock, straight through top to bottom, is an easy cheap upgrade, would make the base "box" a much more effective deterrent. ... show more

I have 4 of them, and each has worked just fine. Included cable comes in handy to lockup in car if you want. Depending on your gun sizes, you can fit two guns inside and a magazine or speed loader strip, but definitely at least 1 gun and a mag. Just be sure to turn the knob to locked and tug to double check before thinking it's locked. Just because it's closed, it doesn't automatically lock...And Resetting combination is as easy as pressing over a tab, setting your new combo, and returning tab to it's original position. This is a solid, metal constructed safe for handguns and other small valuables. It has heft, but not too much. The 3-digit combination was easy to set up. Securing your handguns from children, distressed adults and thieves is both wise and now legally required in some states, like Michigan. Children are naturally curious, and they should not kill or be killed due to this. Teens are famously moody. This is also better for STORING handguns than plush padded transportation cases, which hold humidity against the gun, which is BAD for rust formation. NEVER store your guns in cases that "hug" the gun. Instead, let AIR surround the gun. For this safe, it may be best to remove 1 or both layers of foam to allow that air circulation. ... show more

I have owned this safe for a little over 2 years, and have stored it in a dry, temperature-regulated cabinet. During this time I have probably opened and closed the safe no more than 5 times. Last night I tried to open it, and noticed that the three numbered wheels were depressed down toward the inside of the safe, and were difficult to rotate. At that point I thought I would have to break into the safe to get it open. But fortunately, I was able to move the wheels using a small screwdriver to set them in the correct order. That's when the entire combination mechanism disappeared into the safe and disintegrated into all its parts. I was amazed what a piece of junk this combination safe is, with cheap stamped metal parts and plastic tumblers. What a joke. All someone would have to do is take a screwdriver put it on the tumbler wheel and give it a wack. The whole thing would fall apart. This company also makes a keyed version of this safe, and maybe that would be a better choice. I can't believe that it could be any worse than the combination system they use, and I was lucky to get it open. ... show more
