I just bought this on July 1, 2024, received it July 2, 2024, and took it camping with is on July 3,2024. So I cannot speak of how long it runs or it's durability. I can only speak from my experience. So camping. Really we stayed in an air conditioned cabin at a state park in Texas. We had the AC on 70°, but the cabin was usually close to 77° due to the doors being opened and shut almost constantly by grandkids. Plus the kitchen area was facing west-northwest, so got a lot of afternoon sun, directly shining on the ice maker. We used the ice maker from the time we got there until we left. It was not running constantly because we weren't in the cabin constantly, but if someone was there, it was running. With 10 people, including 4 kids, it kept us in ice for 4 full days! Instead of buying a couple bags of ice per day, we had ice at the ready the whole time! Super easy to use. Very low noise. It easily saved us $30 in ice, plus more in time and gas. So I'd consider it an excellent value. I paid around $60 for it and it's already paid for itself in one week!

Second HOME ice maker i have owned. The first one lasted almost 5 years and I replaced the upper motor easily and inexpensively. They are a good product. I use it continuously. It appears the pump motor or impeller wore out, and I didn't have time to troubleshoot and repair it so, another one! Buy this product its easy to maintain and has value or the price.

Honestly I was very excited to find this treasure. Every part of me was adding it to my mom everyday 'christmas list'. It took only days to get it once I ordered. Loved to open this bright red shiny wonderful gift for myself. It's Christmas everyday for myself with my red theme in my kitchen but also because one thing I have a hard time living without is coffee and at times when I can't go on the go to my favorite coffee shop, this is a great substitute, yes it maybe only ice but that makes the best ice coffee, ice tea, lemonade, or even flavored water of your choice. Don't get me wrong this is one the best gifts to myself but when I can't figure out why it lasted less than a year was quite a dilemma, especially for me. I work in the health field, long hours, so I live to use the ice machine and when it decides to retire it self with no reason, it saddens me. Now it's to take time to save more hard earned money to buy another one, thought unsure when. This machine will be greatly missed.

Bought this for our teenage son’s “major” Christmas present. Our freezer has one but we cannot hook it up due to apartment rules. So he’s asked for ice for years. Since Christmas, everything he drinks now has ice. He loves it.

So far, it has done exactly what it said it would do. The negative reviews appear often to come from people who have unrealistic expectations. If you have a fridge and are hoping this would be a perfect substitute for a built in ice maker, you may not like this. No, you can't just fill it up at night, and expect to have nice ice cubes waiting for you in the morning. But if you have it near your freezer and can scoop up the cubes every 30m or so it works really well. And, confession, I am an ice chewer, but at age 77 I know that keeping all my original teeth may be shortlived if I keep on crunching hard ice, so I appreciate the fact that these ice "cubes" are hollow and thin-walled!

This was a replacement purchased to replace another unit of different design that failed after 1 year of service. Comparing this unit to the previous unit, the interior design of this unit provides a slightly deeper ice bin and the mechanism is slightly recessed from the other style that I previously purchased that lasted slightly over a year. This unit keeps getting ice cubes stuck under the moving water tray which overloads the circuit and causes the unit to need to be power cycled to reset it in order for it to start working again, plus the motor hanging up after the ice rolls back under the moving bin is not good for the motor. (The other style NEVER got ice cubes stuck under the moving water tray.) Basically I've found that after about every 3rd "dump" (a scooping action actually) of the ice into the tray, somehow ice spills back under the moving water tray. I note that this didn't happen in the previous style from another company that was designed with more rounded corners and a more wide and shallow ice tray. Summary: There are apparently several configurations to this ice-maker table-top design. I first assumed they were all the same with different shaped cases over the same standard mechanism. This is not true, as at least the exterior cases vary slightly in shape while the overall water filling and tray movement appears the same. Bottom line is, DO NOT BUY this particular design because ice keeps getting stuck under the moving water tray, overloading the motor which then can't move and overheat to the point of causing the control board to stop working until you power-reset. DO NOT PURCHASE!

Our ice maker broke on our fridge so we were buying ice. That took up so much freezer space and we ran out often. Now, ice is always available, it’s very convenient, no digging in the freezer. We were quite surprised by how quickly it makes ice. It’s very nice looking and the deep red color matches our kitchen accessories. We were surprised that it took up so little room, just one more thing to love about it. I recommend it to everyone.
