Projector maximum white brightness: 4000 ANSI L...
Finally! Finally some good freaking food! If your here reading my review wanting to know if this is the one? Yes, yes it is, but you should really read my entire review. I've been using BenQ and ViewSonic projectors over the last decade. I love projectors, my living room is setup with a 100" 1.4gain motorized screen and a Dolby Atmos 5.1 surround sound system with a Sony box. Getting a projector installed correctly, dialed in and everything configured is significantly more work than just going to Walmart and buying a 65" TV for $400 and calling it a day. My god though the experience just doesn't compare. This ViewSonic is a light cannon and while does best with blackout curtains, it's easy to view in the daytime. The HDR works way better than I imagined it would and the high refresh rate at 1440p is awesome and a game changer. I have a "Steam Machine" gaming PC in the living room and it's so cool how well everything just plays well together. This thing is a serious piece of equipment and if you want to setup a home theater room I can't recommend it enough. ... show more

Not that bright. I don't think it's actually 4k lumens. Refunds take forever.

Projector maximum white brightness: 4000 ANSI L...
Super bright and perfect for gaming anytime of day. Somebody finally got it right. Easy to setup and colors are great as well. Using it in a painted wall but would lol even better in a screen.

  • Good video but needs better audio compatibility.
Projector maximum white brightness: 4000 ANSI L...
Really cool but doesn't support soundbar/surround sound. I can play xbox or watch tv but all the audio comes from the projector unit speakers... isnt compatible with my JBL speakers/subs/soundbar.

  • Low quality!
Projector maximum white brightness: 4000 ANSI L...
It has a warm-up time where the colors look awful. It generally takes 10-15 minutes before it reaches advertised brightness. Color accuracy is awful, and there are a lot of dead pixels.

  • Frustratingly good
Projector maximum white brightness: 4000 ANSI L...
I've had this projector now for 6 months and have very conflicting opinions. This is my second Viewsonic in a row and my 5th DLP projector and 8th projector overall. Everything about the performance when it works is top notch, however OMG is the firmware broken. It randomly forgets to show you things to click on if you open the menu such as the ability to enter sleep mode or even power down. It has a very hard time lighting the bulb as if they used a 200W ballast on a 230W bulb which I won't discount, and I overall find myself on a ladder about twice a month. Moving past that though the picture is excellent, as this is also used as a PC display I've found that I prefer 1440p 120Hz over 4K 60Hz most of the time, and at 240Hz it probably blows away 400Hz LCD panels as far as responsiveness. Too bad DLP can't do variable refresh rate given the way it works but I think this is as close as possible to what can be done. Overall I want to give this projector a 9 or 9.5 for how good it can be, but having lived with it have to go with a 6 out of 10. For reference I'm running firmware V1.01, and if you go to viewsonic's website right now, this model doesn't even show up as an option in their support page to even see if there's a new firmware or even download manuals. (I did request an RMA but it required me to pay for shipping, drop it off at a place about a 10 minute walk, and I had 4 dental surgeries back to back to back at the time so I never bothered as a replacement model running the same flawed firmware likely -`won't be any better) ... show more
