I had one of the ratchet straps break but they replaced them all be sure to ck intregity of system before traveling.

The product itself looks promising and is well made. I ordered a different brand to compare sturdiness and looks and this one won. However, there is a cranking mechanism that is used to tighten the straps to the door jambs that skips, so it's impossible to tighten the strap. This happened with 2 out of the 4 metal tighteners, so it could be a quality control failure. From what I could gather, there are some concave/convex teeth that the rachet uses to adjust the length, but these teeth are either too flimsy or too shallow, so the rachet is not able to pull them in. Overall, I'd given this a 5 star if it had worked, but it only had one job and it failed at it so.... 2... maybe.

This rack just detached and flew off my roof. Shattered my back window. Lost my skis and my rack. The latching system is not very good. DO NOT BUY THIS RACK!!

So, I had high hopes, but they fell short. The racks installed easily. They seemed sturdy, I wished the metal angles fit better into the door channel, but I understood... they are universal, they aren't going to fit every car perfectly. Anyway, I installed them. Drove for a week with them on the roof without carrying any weight (I was hoping to use them to carry my canoe). There is some added wind noise, not super loud, but very noticeable; again I expected that despite the reviews saying they were quiet. One morning I went out to leave for work and noticed one of the racks sitting weird; upon inspection one of the metal ratchet straps had snapped!!.. with no load. I am so glad that didn't snap when I had a canoe strapped to it on my roof. Best case the canoe would have flown off damaging my car... worse case I could have cause a major accident with it hitting cars behind me. In short, for me, on a 2017 Chevy Cruze Hatchback, this product did not work. I hope others have more success.

This was a nightmare to put together and even after everything it didn’t work. Locking mechanism wouldn’t hold so going any speed other than snail the rails would jiggle loose. It’s sad because in my opinion the rails were high quality but everything else was flimsy. When it comes to these you definitely get what you pay for. Spend the extra money and get a better quality item.

this product is unstable for road use, the metal strips brake. I fixed one because I was already on the road and had the storage box with me. then again another one broke, very unstable and dangerous, I am a mechanic and was able to fix one when it broke but imagine a lady and her kids running in to the same issue. See pictures attached, stay away, safety and quality issues. Amazon should not be selling such low quality item, can cause serious injury or death.
