  • Worked great
Style: 48"Tow Dethatcher
Directions suck but got it together really easy. It worked great and look forward to using in the spring. I detached my yard this fall and it helped a lot. I used my mower to blow the detached grass out of my one acre lot.

  • Good quality, bad assembly instructions but I am very pleased with its performance
Style: 48"Tow Dethatcher
It really did an awesome job removing thatch in my lawn. I was shocked at what it pulled up. The included instructions are terrible, but there is a video online that - while it had no audio (???) - was sufficient to get it built. It is reasonably heavy and is better made than I would have expected for the price. The wheels could use some sort of lock to keep them from coming forward when you mode it or store it. But that is a nonissue during use. 5 stars if the assembly instruction was better. I am handy, but it too a few re-do’s of pieces due to the bad instructions. ... show more

  • The instructions are hard to follow.
Style: 40"Tow Dethatcher
The instructions are hard to follow. Just assemble it by gut feeling. It's not an expensive tool. If it lasts 2 years, it was worth it.

  • Frustrating to put together & rakes won't reach the ground when attached to my riding mower
Style: 48"Tow Dethatcher
I usually have good luck with Vevor items; not this time. Product arrived well packaged and appears to be of quality construction. First issue I had was assembly. As many reviewers noted, instruction manual is terrible. Images so small I could not see how parts go together. Even little things like whether a washer goes on the bolt side or the nut side could not be determined from the instructions. There is a QR code on the frame that takes you to a 13 minute video (no sound) which was helpful. HOWEVER, the parts in the video are not the same as the parts on my model. Some parts I had were not even shown in the video. And many parts in the written assembly instructions didn't match the order of assembly shown in the video. This took WAY too much time to assemble; mostly because I had to do a lot of guessing, wrongly, I might add. So, there was a lot of disassembly involved, which has a definite effect on the nylon coating of the nuts (I assume to help keep them tightened). I'm not exaggerating when I said it took me 6 hours to finally put this thing together. I will admit a lot of that time was spent searching other videos and trying to find good images that show how the components really go together. After finally getting everything together and fairly snugged up, I attached it to my riding lawnmower. The tongue of the dethatcher is too short; won't cover the space to reach the hole on my hitch plate. I re-assembled the tongue swapping two pieces and that gave me the length i needed, however this meant I only had the tongue attached with one bolt instead of two. So, I was able to connect the dethatcher and when I had, I noticed that none of the rakes touch the ground. Sitting level with the rakes touching the ground, the dethatcher's tongue sits about 5 inches above the ground, way too low to fit on any of my equipment (ATV, UTV, or riding lawnmower). I can pull this dethatcher around all day and it won't rake anything but the tips of the grass. In looking over Vevor's information on Amazon, I can't find any info about this distance. A very frustrating experience. Now I have to take everything apart, put it back in the box and return it. At least that won't take me 6 hours. ... show more

  • Not Heavy Enough and The Metal Is Not Thick Enough
Style: 60"Dethatcher with 3-point Attachments
I cleared some of my property and the first time I was using it, the tines got caught in a root. i tried freeing it up back driving backwards and it wouldn't come loose. It did that a few times and as you can see it twisted/bent. I contacted customer service and well they seemed concerned at first, a few follow up emails stating they are concerned and working on solution. It's been 1.5 weeks and I just received another email and I got the same email as the others, stating they are concerned and working on a solution. So customer service and VEVOR does not care about my issue and they are not backing there product. I highly recommend paying the extra money and buy an actual heavy duty rock/root rake. I got tired of waiting and needed something to use. I had to use my torch and heat the metal and bend it back. I also had to put 2 35x12.5x20 wheels on the frame for weight. The rake is not heavy enough to grab and keep it under the tines while dragging. Buy a name brand and get that better customer service from you local supplier. I gave it 2 stars because it is doing what I need it to do, just wish it was better built, should of used a different type of iron for the tines to they won't bend or twist. Made heavier so it actually grabs when dragging. Update 10/9/25 customer service has gotten back to me, they are giving me a full refund and Amazon is having it picked up at my house. I do appreciate Vevor making it right and with that I will add a star for backing there product. ... show more

  • Fantastic product, looks can be deceiving
Style: 48"Tow Dethatcher
Works fantastic! I had my doubts because of the wide spacing between the tines but this thing works great. For really tough jobs through a couple cinder blocks up on the platform and this thing really digs in. A note about assembly, depending on the height of your hitch on your mower, you may have to swap the brackets that hold the main arms to the platform. ... show more

  • Great value
Style: 48"Tow Dethatcher
Great product for the price and excellent value overall. I have a fairly large yard with a ton of thatch so manually racking wasn't an option. I was able to assemble this using the instructions. Assembly did take 30-40min. I was able to remove a good amount of thatch from the yard without any added weight or tearing up the yard although one of the tines did come loose. I will need to see if that is a common occurrence or a one-off due to not tightening enough. So that is one thing to keep an eye out for. I may come back and bump it down to 4 stars if that is a common issue. ... show more
