  • Sturdy, definitely withstands punishment. Sturdy, definitely withstands punishment.

I installed this on my 2016 Silverado and they worked great holding 5 fishing poles securely. Installation was quick and easy and fit perfectly on the Redrock cross bars I had. Recently while driving, the front cross bar broke loose and smashed into the rear cross bar sending both flying off my truck at about 65mph and sliding across the highway. Even though the damage to the Redrock cross bars was quite severe, the Vevor racks survived with only some scrapes. They still open, close, lock and unlock as they should. I’m pretty annoyed the Redrock cross bars failed but I’m honestly impressed that the Vevor racks held up like they did. ... show more

  • Great for the price Great for the price

REVIEW UPDATE: I can now recommend this rack, did not rattle or show any signs of early failure. For reference I loaded it with 4 snowboards and it survived 700+ miles of driving at up to 90 mph, very gusty 60-80mph winds, temps down to around 10 degrees Fahrenheit, and saw about 2-3 feet of fresh snow fall. I oriented all the nuts to be pointing forward to test if the hardware backed out at all, and they are still in the same orientation. I still recommend some sort of water displacer or lubricant in the lock body. The locks never froze on me, but the latches did get slightly sticky. Locking the latches makes this a non issue. Side note this was in California (San Diego to Mammoth Mountain) where it doesn't get particularly cold and they dont salt the roads. I bought this rack with my own money, the fit and finish isn't as good as the big name brands but for the price you get a good piece of equipment. Only real issue is that if someone wanted it, they could take it off your car in less than 5 minutes. ORIGINAL REVIEW: It isn't snow season yet for me so I'll probably update this review in a month or two. I took it for a short shakedown drive, you will want to do this as the mounting hardware settled and loosened up a bit by the time I got back. Blue loctite could be a good idea but I have heard some thread lockers are bad for plastic, which there is alot of. Mostly riveted construction. The rack is built with some interesting (poor) design choices but ultimately seems sturdy enough. The lock works as a physical stop for the latch so it is a good idea to lock the rack before driving. The only big issue I found so far is that the top is able to twist since there is alot of space between the top and bottom latch pieces (see picture). I think this can be fixed this by shimming something between the latch pieces so the top can't rotate as much. The twisting visually isn't as bad on the hinge side, but I will probably try to shim that side as well as there is also alot of space. The mounting hardware that secures the ski rack to your roof rack has a rubber pad on top, but is bare steel on the bottom. I used some 3m adhesive rubber pad to prevent it from marring the bottom of my roof rack. The mounting feet do not seat into anything on the ski rack so it can rotate, this probably isn't a huge issue once installed but you will want to make sure everything is square during installation. No torque specs on the instructions, and the screws are all square neck bolts that seat into plastic. Thumb screws are also plastic with a hex nut seated inside. Be careful not to over tighten these as I can see the plastic stripping out with enough torque. I think these would work best on roof rack bars with a mostly symmetrical cross section, I have "aero" bars and the shape of the mount foot doesn't rest nicely on it. ... show more

  • Great value
Size: 6pr/4 Boards Color: Roof Rack (Full)
These Ski racks are a great value. These racks are secure and fairly sturdy. When latched a close there does feel a bit of wiggle and play, but it’s not the end if the world. I use these for my long fishing poles and I’ve driven over miles with them loaded up and had no concern of these unlocking. They feel like they securely lock. The finish doens’t feel as premium as other rack systems I used, but for the price I feel like the are unmatched. These are perfect to throw on and then remove. Very practical and worth the asking price. Don’t hesitate to buy. ... show more

  • I guess it works..?
Size: 6pr/4 Boards Color: Roof Rack (Full)
It works? Ive had plastic parts fall off and the buttons dont activate the latches when pressed. You have to manipulate them in the way they are engineered to move to even get the hook to lock closed. I am disappointed in the quality of the products functionality. Especially for the price. Very low quality product, system to attach is badly designed and is an eye sore because of the screws. Buttons struggle to lock with board/skis attached. Once theyre locked i dont have the confidence to drive without using the key to lock it in place. Nothing flew off yet but you know where to find me if they do... ... show more

  • Lock Inoperative Lock Inoperative
Size: 6pr/4 Boards Color: Roof Rack (Full)
It will do the job. Installation is pretty straightforward. Connecting the brackets to the bottom of the carrier is a bit of a challenge because of the small opening into which you put the short carriage bolts. I ended up using candle adhesive on the end of a stick to hold the bolt while I navigated it into the hole. The lock on mine doesn’t work. Not a huge thing for me personally because I’m not going to be traveling where I’d leave my shires in the rack overnight. There’s only one lock, the other half of the rack just has a hole where a lock could go. Not certain if both ends are supposed to have a lock or not. But it’s a moot point since the one lock doesn’t work anyway. I’ll contact the manufacturer and update my review pending response. ... show more

  • Great value Great value

I have this on the rack of my Toyota Land Cruiser. It fits 4 snowboards not sure about skis. I ride a 160 wide and the wife is on a 145 and they fit but it is a little tight. Feels very sturdy and doesn’t have rattling while cruising on the free way. The locks work well and are a great feature

  • no secure attachment

The Vevor skis / snowboard rack is well made and of decent quality. However the hardware that attaches to the mounting brackets is inadequate and poorly designed. Also, the carriage bolts had not Allen head holes, even though an Allen wrench was included. I have mounted dozens of racks over the years and decided to return the Vevor right away. ... show more

  • Well built Well built
Size: 6pr/4 Boards Color: Roof Rack (Full)
Took a risk on this having no reviews but am pleasantly surprised. The rack seems well built and allows opening and closing without locking, though I’d recommend locking to prevent it from opening accidentally. Very easy to install, took around 10 minutes. The rubber for skis and boards is sturdy but soft. The mounting brackets are sturdy and come with a rubber top to prevent sliding. The lower bracket is solid metal, about 1/8” thick. One improvement could be to include an additional rubber piece for the bottom bracket to prevent potential marking of the car’s cross bars, but it may not be necessary. Great value considering it’s half or less than a name brand, but seems to be of similar quality. ... show more
