I tried potatoes, fries, fish and veggies in this so far and everything tasted great. I need to play around with the settings to figure out the right temp and time and amount of oil to optimize each food item to my liking but it’s easy to use, easy to clean and can make food taste amazing. I also love the look - it’s big but looks modern and minimalistic. The materials and build also feel quality and not something that will easily break.

Lots and lots of buttons to push to cook different things. Are these necessary? No, not if you use the basic controls for temp and time. But, if you want a little more convenience of just pushing one button to cook certain foods, pizza, fries, bread, etc. yes! It looks pretty cool too. I have a very similar air fryer, but it is smaller and has fewer buttons to push and no steam/air fry option. This air fryer is, like I said, way cooler. The grill plate in the bottom can be a bear to remove, but you only need to do it when you get ready to clean the air fryer, otherwise, be sure to let it cool completely before trying to remove it. It took a bit longer to toast my garlic toast and I had to flip it halfway to get it done to perfection. It is deceiving in the ad's pictures, because it looks like there is another heat conductor on the bottom of the air fryer, there is not. It is a simple convection system, like most any other air fryer. This one does have a steam function which can be handy in keeping your meats from drying out, but I find I will put what ever I am cooking on 400 degrees for about 3 to 4 minutes on just air fryer to crisp it up if I want something to be crispier after steam/air frying it. Also, when cleaning, water and soap will get in between the glass and it can be a pain to get out. Otherwise, this is a very nice looking air fryer and very functional. About medium sized, I could cook a small chicken or half a bone-in turkey breast in it more conveniently and faster, with less electricity, less heat in kitchen, than in conventional over. .

I owned an air fryer in the past but didn't like it because I felt like there was too much guess-work (this was when air fryers were a new thing). This fryer takes most of the guess-work out of air frying with its preset buttons, and the window and light allow you to check on food as it's cooking. It is super user-friendly. I love that the basket and tray are dishwasher safe so cleaning is easy. I have a picky eater at home who only wants fast food, but this is a great compromise to get him to eat at home. This was definitely a great purchase and I'm so pleased with it!

Very easy to use. Had it for a few weeks now and so far so good. Like the feature of not having to flip the food 1/2 through as there is a heating element below and above. It is a quiet operation; fan makes little noise where prior one had was loud. Works well for two. It will hold two steaks, a whole chicken up to 5 or 6 lbs. Has a feature to steam fry which is nice in keeping some foods moist and not dried out.

My mother-in-law has wanted an air fryer ever since she witnessed my own air fryer in action. When I saw this Veken Air Fryer, 6qt. become available, I was intrigued by several features: double heat sources for quicker cooking that eliminate the flip/shake routine of air frying, a see-through window, and 13 functions, including a new Steam Air Fry, for juicier cooking. This Product's Specifications are the same as my Instant Vortex Plus, 6 Qt., except for the basket measurements (comparison photos attached). When I first pulled everything out of the box to wash with soapy hot water, I noticed the silicone feet attached to the cooking tray that snuggly fits inside the basket. The nubs do stick out 1/4", and these stoppers can be removed for easier cleaning. Some rinse water did get inside the window but later evaporated during cooking. Before our First Use with food, I did run the fryer 400F., 4-5 times for 10 minutes with the Steam Feature to eliminate the awful plastic odor we did not want to permeate our marinated chicken thighs. The buttons illuminate once you plug in the machine, and you have to figure out which ones to press, since the User Manual is not as detailed as could be. After setting your Menu and starting the machine, only your Selection buttons will stay lit. The Water Tank is hidden in the back, and you have to pull it off to remove the lid and fill the container. Don't be afraid to change the default cooking time of your selected food because 18 minutes of Steam Air Frying our thighs @ 400F. yielded 200 degrees internal temperature. That is okay with chicken thighs because they can handle high heat like inside a slow cooker. For 2 1/2 lbs. of chicken, I steam air-fried multiple batches, experimenting with Cooking Time (+ or -). The next day, I air-fried some potato nuggets, and they quickly cooked perfectly. My long-bristled soap dispenser allowed me to thoroughly clean the tray and basket, although they are supposed to be dishwasher-safe. I did have to remove the silicone feet to clean other food particles with a sponge. The heat coils inside the top of the air-fryer did not even get messy. For comparison, I took photos of both air fryers with measurements. Veken is deeper but has a smaller basket/tray than my Instant Vortex Plus. Despite this, Veken is a step-up from my Vortex because of the improved features I listed in my introduction. I might even keep this fryer and give my Vortex Plus to my mother-in-law, instead! When I ordered this fryer, it was listed for $159.99 and has now dropped in price to $99.99, which is what I paid for my Vortex last year! If you've wanted an air fryer, I highly recommend this one at a great price.
