Had a huge problem with my cat tipping his water bowl or dipping his paws and spilling it everywhere, just really making a mess. Probably because I just couldn’t keep the water clean. Until I got this fountain. He really enjoys it, I am filling it up pretty often which is telling me he does drink a lot from it and doesn’t leave a mess. After a month of use, I took it apart to clean and omg yuck. The filter was gross and had caught clumps of litter. I will no longer let it go this long without cleaning but I’m happy with how the filter seems to be working. Also, it is quiet. 👍🏻😊 The only downfall I saw in the comments that the pump will give out pretty quickly so I will update the post if that decides to die soon. But it’s only $12 for a new one, if it only happened once or twice, that’s not a bad cost. ... show more

My cats loved this water fountain. If after washing it and its parts the motor didn’t work, I would let it sit for a while longer unplugged. Then miraculously the motor would start working again. Not so once the 90 day return policy passed. The motor is dead. I was so disappointed because one of my kitties will only drink from this one. ... show more

We really like this water fountain. It holds a lot of water, has 2 filters which is good because we have it outdoors. The racoons use it to drink AND wash their hands so filters are good. If you do use it outside I would suggest buying extra filters just n case. I have rinsed my filters off so I haven't bought any yet but I'm sure I will need them with hands being washed and all. Lol. We left for a week and it still had water n it when we got home. It is also very quiet so it doesn't scare any animals. Super easy to clean. Super easy to assemble. ... show more

I've owned a number of Veken pet fountains by now, and all eventually died after a year or so due to pump failure but I decided to try this one. Why, you ask? It has a different pump, which was clearly my biggest problem. And so far, it seems fo be a marked improvement. This little white pump is easier to disassemble and clean, though the fewer suckers on the bottom mean that it does tend to get a little out of place and becomes noisy on occasion. The lid on this model is also different, which I feel is actually not a positive. The lack of a "gutter" around the water bowl makes it easier for my cat to splash water out of the fountain and he's a big fan of splashing. The lid also doesn't "snap" in place, or attach in any way really, it just sits on top and relies on the somewhat modest weight of the water to keep it settled. This would not be a problem if your animal doesn't seek to test the structural integrity of every fountain, but my cat sneaks his claws in that seam where the lid sets and tries to pry it off somewhat regularly. His ingenuity in testing his fountains is also one of the reasons I have it set up without the spout on top, because he'll just use that for leverage to knock it over. Despite all this, it seems to be performing alright so far, and it seems to stay cleaner than my previous fountains. I do recommend getting a silicone mat with a tall lip to help keep water in if your cat likes to splash and scoop water out, I even have a towel in the silicone tray to help further with the water issue, but so far this is my most reliable fountain yet. PROS: *Pump is much easier to clean than in previous versions *Almost silent when properly aligned *Large capacity *Shorter, wider design makes it harder for my cat to knock over CONS: *No gutter in water tray, so it's easier to spill and splash water *3 weak suckers on the bottom of pump allow it to get out of alignment, in which case it becomes fairly noisy *Lid is not secured in any way, making it possible for a more motivated animal to get it off In summation, there's no such thing as a perfect pet fountain. Each person has different needs and their animal might have different habits with water. My Bengal cat loves to splash and tries to knock fountains over when he's bored enough, but so far he hasn't managed with this one, so it's a win in my book. If your cat doesn't test the fountain much I'm sure this would be near perfect, but for me I'd like a few improvements still; namely a more secure lid, pump, and gutter on the water tray. Regardless, I'd recommend it since it's been working well and an easy to clean pump actually means a lot when you're doing it every couple weeks. ... show more

I have 3 pugs and a frenchie and we all LOVE this fountain. It’s inexpensive, yet effective and reliable. The water is always cold and clear. I change the filter every 2-4 weeks but wash it in between. I also always have a bowl of water out but ever since I put out this fountain, they 100% prefer to drink from it and not the water bowl. For large dogs, I wouldn’t choose this one. I board and whenever there’s a large dog here, I end up having to refill it way more often. But from someone with 4 littles, I couldn’t be happier. You don’t really need the cleaning kit, it’s pretty easy to clean without the tools. I’ve only had it about a month and a half, two months now and I’ve never had a problem with the motor, sponge, or any other component. When the water gets too low, you can hear the motor working harder, but you can also see the water line from the outside. You obviously want to try to not let the motor run dry so refill it as soon as you hear it struggling. I just bought a 32 pack of filters so I plan on having this fountain for awhile.
