This is exactly what I needed for my mom with dementia. She never knows what day it is, what day of week, what month, etc. This is a large, bright unit that can be seen across any room. Has several different displays, including a combination analog/digital clock, which is the one she likes (and I selected). It spells out the day of week (and on that screen abbreviates the month name; on other screens it will spell out the whole month name). I can confirm it remembers these settings on a power failure. Note it is not USB powered but uses a dedicated power supply. Menu is easy to use. The alarms I programmed to remind her to go to the dining room for breakfast, lunch, and dinner are nice. It plays a song (but there is no choice on changing that) with some options for how long. Also has a night mode that will dim the screen, although it is not automatic, you have to set the time (why didn't they just include a light sensor?) Anyway, it checked most of the boxes for what I wanted, and has been running for weeks so far with no issues.

My mom was beginning to get confused as to what day and time it was. We were worried as she takes medication, and we wanted to make sure she didn't over or under medicate. Living alone, as days blend together, a friend of ours suggested this new style of clock for her. Once I saw it on Amazon, I agreed that it would be a good choice to help mom stay in her home with less confusion. She loves it. It is easier for her to understand, a really good choice, and she appreciated it very much. She has it on her kitchen counter, and it is clear and easy to read. It sets the time automatically after a power outage or time changes. Don't hesitate, this is a great product.

GOTTA LOVE IT, BRIGHT, CLEAR. I DID NOT REALIZE IT WAS RADIO WAVE OPERATED AS TO THE TIME BEING SELF SETTING, THERE IS A ANTENNA ON THE BACK ( CLOCK CANNOT BE WALL MOUNTED BECAUSE OF THE ANTENNA) FORTUNATELY THE LOCATION I CHOSE FOR MY CLOCK ALLOWS FOR THE CLOCK TO BE MOUNTED (HARD TO EXPLAIN FOR TYPING) THE ANTENNA EXTENDS BELOW THE SOFFIT.

Bought one of these for my 85-year old dad, who is suffering from "sundowners" (can't tell day from night) and he loved it so much, we got him another one. It has a clear, bright display and is working flawlessly and really helps him to know if it is morning, afternoon, evening or night, plus which day of the week it is. My only two very minor complaints is that it is pretty expensive for what it is and I wish the screen was slightly larger so it can be seen farther away with someone with diminished eyesight. Other than those minor issues, I highly recommend. I would have given it a "5" if not for the price and smaller size.
