- CHECK ENGINE LIGHT DIAGNOSTICS (basic functions) When used with generic OBD II Apps (e.g., Car Scanner ELM OBD2, OBD Fusion), you can read & erase engine diagnostic trouble codes, view freeze frame data, I/M readiness and real-time sensor readings (such as Speed, RPM, O2 Readings, Engine coolant temperature, Mass air flow rate, Fuel Trim), which can help you diagnose simple engine problems.
- ADVANCED DIAGNOSTICS & FEATURES (only for selected vehicles, see product images or user guide for details) When used with more professional Apps (usually requires sperate purchase), you can get features like advanced diagnostics (on ABS, airbag, etc.) and manufacturer-specific PIDs (such as transmission temperature, oil pressure), examine the HV battery in hybrid & electric vehicles, customize selected vehicles, etc. Note: it does not support service reset.
- COMPATIBLE WITH IOS & ANDROID for iOS devices, please connect directly in the OBD App instead of through iOS Bluetooth. Android head units are not compatible; for some Android phones, it may show as paired, saved or previously connected after pairing but you can just start the App to connect. For detailed iOS and Android connection & troubleshooting guide, please refer to Installation Manual or Instructions for Use.
- VEHICLE COMPATIBILITY Compatible with MY1996+ cars and light trucks in the US and 1998+ in Canada for check engine light diagnostic functions. For PHEVs & EVs, please refer to the User Guide document (EV compatibility guide). Note: please make sure your vehicle OBD port is in good condition and the device fits snugly in order to connect to the vehicle ECU (powering on does not necessarily mean a good fit).
- Note: currently there is no Veepeak App coming with this device; third-party Apps are required but not included and requires separate download or purchase from Play Store or App Store (check images for all compatible Apps); NOT compatible with Carly, MHD, xHP, ProTool, ABRP (Android version), and other Apps that are not listed. Avoid low-quality iOS apps with "Torque" in their names!

With the right app this allows you to see a lot of info along with live data! You can also view and clear codes and also click a link to take you to the internet to see probable causes and recommended fixes of codes. Very quick and easy connection. I love the minimalist compact design. Great product. Worth every penny.

This replaced the old cheap (no-name brand) one I had for 10+ years. I use the OBD Fusion and Torque Pro Android apps. The setup was straightforward. I also like the compact design, as my old one was rather bulky. Unless you dump $100 plus on a Bluetooth adapter, there will be a slight connectivity lag. It works well and lets me see important information such as emission status and check engine codes. The primary sensors I pay close attention to are RPM, O2 sensors, fuel trims, MAF, engine temp, intake air temp, and the intake manifold pressure (MAP), which are all helpful in troubleshooting issues as I don't just throw parts at a problem, I diagnose them. After seeing how it holds up in the long run, I will update my review.

I bought it. I downloaded the software. I plugged it in. I connected it to my phone via bluetooth, ran the software and it works. Awesome. Saved me from wondering. BTW, if this is $30 and the software is free, why can't RAM show this to me on my dashboard screen? Indian does makes life MUCH easier!!!

Do your research. Ensure you know what you're buying. It's your choice which software program you'll use in combination w/ this device. I use Car Scanner (free) for my Ford 2003 F-250 6.0L diesel. Read the dialogue - this OBD2 device is not supplied w/ any software program - that's up to the user. I couldn't be happier with this device. Excellent quality. You have to love Blue-Tooth integration - hands free. Would definitely buy again.

I purchased this in 2020. In 2025, it still works really well for OBD related work on my Kia Soul 2013. I use the lifetime Standard Version of GaragePro app with this particular product.
