Description

How often should I re-season my skillet? If you use your skillets regularly and oil them lightly after each wash, you only need to perform a full oven re-seasoning 2-3 times a year. If you notice food starting to stick badly or the surface looks dull and grey, it's time to re-season. What are the biggest signs my skillet needs re-seasoning? Look for these signs: A dull, dry, or grey cooking surface, consistent food sticking, sticky patches (oil that didn't fully polymerize) or frequent rust spots. How do I remove rust spots and restore my skillet? Don't panic! Scrub the rust aggressively with steel wool/salt until it has gone. Wash it, dry immediately, then oil and fully re-season (bake the pan upside down). Are there any foods I should avoid cooking in cast iron? Yes, limit highly acidic foods (tomato sauce, vinegar) in newly seasoned pans, as the acid can degrade the fresh seasoning. Once seasoning is well-developed, occasional use is fine; avoid long simmering. What are the ideal foods for building and maintaining seasoning? Cook foods using fat and high heat! Great seasoning builders include: frying bacon/chicken, searing steaks, sautéing vegetables, and baking cornbread. • Perfect sizes great value for money
Color: Black
After my extensive research, very pleased with this brand and type. One excellent feature of this Utopia brand is it’s lighter than the major Natl brand. This is critical as I suffer from RA. Perfect three piece sizes at an excellent price point. Very good quality and value for money. I preseasoned this preseason three piece set as many many reviewers suggested as well. These arrived with no discoloration and I look forward to cooking my very first meals. ... show more

  • Exceptional Value for a High-Quality Cast Iron Skillet Set
Color: Black
I recently purchased the Utopia Kitchen 3-Piece Cast Iron Skillet Set, and it has quickly become a staple in my kitchen. Here’s why I’m thoroughly impressed: Quality & Durability: Heavy-Duty Construction: These skillets are incredibly sturdy, made from high-quality cast iron. They heat evenly, which is crucial for achieving the perfect sear on meats and veggies. Pre-Seasoned Surface: The pre-seasoning is a great starting point. With a bit of additional seasoning before use, these pans have become naturally non-stick, making cooking and cleaning much easier. Versatility: Three Convenient Sizes: The set includes 6-inch, 8-inch, and 10-inch skillets, which are perfect for different cooking needs. I’ve used the 6-inch for small meals or frying an egg, the 8-inch for sautéing vegetables, and the 10-inch for larger meals like steaks or stir-fries. Oven Safe: These skillets can go from stovetop to oven, making them ideal for recipes that require high heat or need to be finished in the oven. Performance: Even Heat Distribution: I’ve noticed a significant difference in the way these skillets cook compared to my old pans. The even heat distribution helps cook food uniformly, preventing hotspots. Retains Heat: Once heated, these skillets retain their temperature exceptionally well, which is perfect for dishes that need consistent heat. Care & Maintenance: Easy to Maintain: After each use, I simply rinse with hot water and scrub with a stiff brush. A light coat of oil keeps them in great condition. Just remember to dry them thoroughly to prevent rust. Pros: High-quality cast iron at an affordable price. Versatile with three different sizes. Pre-seasoned, but easy to add more seasoning for better non-stick performance. Excellent heat retention and even cooking. Cons: They are heavy, so be prepared for that if you’re not used to cast iron. Handles get very hot during cooking, so be sure to use oven mitts or handle covers. Conclusion: Overall, the Utopia Kitchen Cast Iron Skillet Set is a fantastic value. Whether you’re a seasoned cook or just starting out, these skillets will elevate your cooking experience. I highly recommend this set to anyone looking for durable, versatile, and affordable cast iron cookware. ... show more

  • Good quality, Good price
Color: Black
Made of good cast iron. They are pre seasoned, but with use and “NEVER” wash them. They will eventually become more seasoned. My only complaint is the handles need to be longer. The short handles are a little difficult for me to use.

  • Oil them along with yourself
Color: Black
*LATEST AND MOST MOIST UPDATE APRIL 15 2026* So now I am using this cast iron pan with a new mini hibachi/yakitori grill, the IronMaster cast iron grill ci-1608M With the duraflame charcoal logs. Why? I’ll tell you why and then you will know why and you’ll be like, “oh that’s why”. Here’s why. The little logs get super freakin hot, hotter than gas or regular charcoal. So you put like 7-8 logs in the grill with fire starters under the bottom rack and light through the air inlet slot-it’s the easiest way and less wasteful then a chimney that lights the logs really unevenly. Then wait 20 minutes at which point the logs are hotter than 600 degrees and they are grey. Then put the skillet on the grill for like 3-5 minutes and it is mega hot but handle stays cool. The grills footprint is perfect for the big pan and the smaller ones are fine too. Together it is like one super hot package of cast iron. With this I do a super hot sear in Amish butter roll butter on thick beef fillets of 4 lbs per set (4x1 lb medallions), and then transfer right to the grill to finish. If you like cast iron this is a great and fun combo to try. It’s actually convenient and efficient with delicious results and not to mention it is an indestructible and quite portable package. The pans are still like new and maintain themselves at this point. And I’ve been using grapeseed oil more with them. It’s great for high heat but will impart a pleasant sweet accent to your food so that should be considered in choosing it vs avocado oil which is much more neutral but for beef it’s beef tallow and/or butter finish. We made some great fried rice in the big pan recently and it s as good as in the wok but not so easy to flip around. Definitely easier with a wok. I still have not ever put soap on the pans, just boiling water to clean and sterilize. *Update Jan 25 2026* No issues at all rock solid and rust free. Been making blackened chicken outside. Super hot pan with a little oil and I use chef Paul Prudhommes blackened REDFISH MAGIC. -it’s so good- and slap blackened season chicken breast on there for like 30 seconds a side and finish in oven. The heat a cast iron pan handles is the KEY for proper blackened seasoning finish. The smell is incredible. Without a cast iron skillet it’s not correct. This pan is as clean as the day I got it still. All I do is boil water in it after use to keep it. I mean yes it is just a cast iron pan set but with all the crap that masquerades as quality stuff it’s nice to know that for a decent price there are still products that can last like things used to. Especially when it’s always questionable as to what things are really made from when it comes to metal products from china/india/Pak, so it’s legit. *Update* we have been using these a lot a lot. Holding up great and rust free. Minimal maintenance for sure. After using the easiest way to clean them is simply to boil water in them for a few minutes and they come out clean and smooth. Not much need to re-oil but a light coat of oil doesn’t hurt if not using often. On the stovetop inside, a medium heat like 5-6 keeps the smoke in check from butter especially since smoke point is so low for butter. Avocado oil works great for least smoke. Outdoors I cook as hot as possible with these. Great set. Once seasoned they are right on. Heavy weight and expected usability. Just keep them oiled and they won’t rust. The little one ended up in the dishwasher once and I had to reseason it after removing rust so I don’t recommend that. Also you have to know how to use them indoors; lower heat and they like tallow. It smokes much less than other oils or butters or both. I use all three sometimes together on heart attack night. They have a smoother bottom than some cast iron I have used so that is good too. ... show more

  • Work well and good value.
Color: Black
Cook nicely and seem quite durable. The largest pan is a good size not massive though. You will definitely need a handle cover or a towel to pick them up when hot.

  • The "preseason" is a fad - sticky and rusty
Color: Black
This isn't my first rodeo with cast iron pans. This nifty little triplet come in different sizes, with the smaller two hardly being big enough to fit anything more than one or two fried eggs in. Oh, and they're pretty hefty (but manageable). Size often doesn't matter, it's what you can do or want to do with it, obviously. However, I used only the largest pan. They come "preseasoned" that makes it appear and the average person think that it's ready to use out of the box; but do not be fooled by this claim. I put it to the test and used the largest pan right out of the box - the meat was sticking and left an awful residue on the bottom of the pan. I scrubbed it until what seemed like my fingers would bleed and finally got it to a point where I thought it was clean. Onto the next trial! I stripped the pans. And then I reseasoned them quite a few times over a 12 hour period, and then once more the next day. Yes, the smell was not nice but I figured these seemed durable and well made so might as well give them a second chance. I tried the same meal later, unfortunately same issue - things sticking to the bottom and making it nearly impossible to clean. I've never had a problem with cast irons sticking so much. Not sure what's up with these, but preseason or self season didn't seem to want to stick on the pan. ... show more

  • Cheap but good.
Color: Black
Extremely cheap pans. I bought these to practice because of their price, but I actually kind of like them. They are cheap, I can't find a set like this for under $60 in stores, so great practice set.
