Other reviewers mentioning the red light doesn't work: it's because you installed it during the day and didn't turn on your headlights. These USB lights only come on when your night driving lights are on. They work great. Easy to install, took me about half an hour without using a guide, just figuring out what tools I needed - a couple plastic/nylon trim tools to pry the shifter cover off, a 10mm socket w/ a ratchet wrench, and some common sense. Space is tight to work in, like most VW's, but it's doable. Make sure all the cables are properly stowed and connectors secured. ... show more

Installed ridiculously easy and fitment is pretty good in my 2014 MK6 Jetta Sportwagen. You can pry up the shifter bezel with your hands, then it's just two T20 torx screws, and the rest is all plug and play. Neither of these that I got had the rounded edges to look at home in the far right slot. They light up red with the headlights on, but not very bright, which is a good thing. USB-C fast charging works on my Samsung. I assume the regular USB port will work as well for my wife's lighting port iPhone, but will update and return if it doesn't. Right now tho its 5 stars, no notes. ... show more

Works as advertised. The cord is comically too long so you have to tuck it away nice and at least mine the print was messed up on one of the two buttons. For the price it's not bad, but I wish I could get OEM quality printing on them. To their credit they do glow at just the perfect amount to look stock. ... show more

I was definitely skeptical to order these at first cause a lot of off name chargers dont work well.... DONT BE. I installed them and got a pair of retractable 100w charging cables (they came with usb and lighting adapters over the usb c) and the USB c charges my phone fast as can be, they light em with ur headlights on (not sure why some ppl had an issue) and the install is simple as can be. The regular usb i dont really use so I put it on the passenger side, not sure about that but ORDER THEM NOW ... show more

The other reviews are right, it really is a 5 min job as long as you have torx bits (T20, at least for GolfMK6). You do have torx bits, since you own and do your own work on a German car right? A simple cheap set of trim pry tools is nice too if you don't want to risk screwdriver scratches. Charges well so far, has a fuse on the line, lights are on/off with the headlights just like the cigarette lighter/ash tray since they're piggybacking off it. ... show more

These work for MK 6.5 as well. I installed on my daughter’s 2018 Jetta SE for extra charging ports. Since the 12v outlet doesn’t light up in this generation Jetta, I just had to modify the harness slightly to power the new ports light function. Exactly what I wanted.

Overall, happy with the product. It literally took less than 5 minutes to install, the longer wires made it easy to get everything plugged in and fitted back together. They seem to be decent enough quality and I like that it has a fuse built in. The fit and finish is alright, the plugs don't sit totally flush with the other dummy buttons and the paint/coating isn't a perfect match, but it's close enough that you probably wouldn't notice unless you really look. I'd say it's worth it for the price and much better than my old charging setup. ... show more
