I've owned an affordable treadmill from Amazon before, and I used that one until it stopped working. I'm an avid treadmill user and I work from home. This treadmill blows the other one out of the water for several factors: - noise - smoothness of operation - weight limit - ability to silence beeps - clearer instructions & troubleshooting - included lubricant for top-ups Let's talk a bit more about each of these. This treadmill is quiet. With any treadmill, you're going to hear your footsteps on the tread every time, so what you want to look for is a treadmill that won't be loud enough to hear on meetings or distract from work (if you work from home). This is that treadmill - quiet, smooth, and no one at work has heard it yet! This thing is smooth, and I am WAY impressed with that. This has a higher weight limit than the previous affordable treadmill I owned (treadmills in the $180-350 range on Amazon), and you can tell instantly. I'm usually somewhere near the top of the weight range for these cheap treadmills, so when I started walking on this treadmill and the tread moved *smoothly* from start to finish??? Game over. This is the one. No jolting start that requires skilled acrobatics to survive. No shaky tread that feels like you're on some weird amusement park ride. This treadmill runs like butter. The user manual states this treadmill's weight limit is 264.5 lbs/120 kg. I'm somewhere around 240 lbs and it's STILL this smooth. I'm in love. The treadmill beeps loudly when you press buttons on the remote, but one of the buttons on the remote silences the beeps! You have to do this every time you turn on the treadmill, so if noise is a concern, keep that in mind. I'd compare the beep volume to a microwave beep. While I'd love to permanently silence the beeps, I'm happy that I can silence them at all. The instructions are super clear and thorough. In addition to the normal safety info, I'm particularly impressed with the easy-to-follow startup instructions, the visuals, the remote control cheat sheet (I just leave this page open on my desk), the error code table with clear instructions, the troubleshooting, and lubrication info. With this user manual, I feel very confident owning and caring for my treadmill. Lubricant included! The treadmill arrives ready to go, so the lubricant is just to top off when necessary. The manual tells you when to do that. Another quick thing to note: the manual recommends storing the treadmill flat, not vertically or on its side. All in all, I am wildly impressed with this treadmill for the price. I've used it frequently for 1-4 hours at a time for about 50% of the days since I got it! It doesn't show any signs of use after that time, and the operation hasn't shown signs of impact after walking on it for 3-4+ hours in one sitting. Have been using for last couple of months. Compact and easy to move with wheels on front. The instructions were specific not to store on its side, but profile is low and can be stored flat. Just plug into outlet and set speed. I’ve figured out not to misplace the remote as there’s no other way to operate. I bought this treadmill for my husband as a Christmas gift. He works from home 2 days a week and like to get his 10k steps in each day. It was much heavier than I expected and I commend the delivery person for doing a great job getting to our porch. Set up was easy. It takes two people move the box, but once it's open you can just lift one edge and move it to where you want it because of its wheels. The display is simple. There's a remote which attaches by magnet to the right side of the display. It's not the best remote, simply because there are minimal buttons. Plus and minus, which controls the speed, and a pause button. I don't think there's a stop button, so I pause it and turn off the machine when finished. My husband used it once and didn't like it as much as our regular treadmill. He felt it was narrower and shorter, which it is. He and I are both 5' 10", and I thought the size was great. I've used it more than he has and found it to be a great desk treadmill. I don't go fast and routinely to my speed at 2.5. If i were to go faster, I don't think I could do any laptop work. That speed would be for meetings. I haven't stumbled, I think the width is decent, and the length is just fine. My husband will probably use this one while watching shows after hours, so truthfully I'll get more use out of it since I also work from home. The treadmill, when in use, is quieter than our larger one but still generates some noise. I don't think I'll use it during meetings unless I'm muted. The belt is grippy and was even on the first use, no adjustments were necessary. I'm happy with this purchase and plan to get some steps in during working hours. ... show more

I bought it for getting the daily 5-6k steps and don't regret the buy. It is compact, has front wheels and has just enough speed for walking to brisk walking. I have been using it daily for about 1.5 month and it is working fine. Pros: can be used right out of the box, has remote control, can be moved. Cons: can't store up-right, doesn't have an emergency stop, doesn't store the statistics. Overall, for the price I've paid, I am happy with the purchase, so far. ... show more

It has been great because I challenge myself every week. It’s easy to put together, not too heavy and can fit under your bed. Or standing up in a corner.
