I was able to use this to check and assess the problem of traction control light. I found my way through the menus to be able to view live data of the wheel speed sensor and found one to be bad and it was a cheap and somewhat easy replacement. Would recommend.

The media could not be loaded. I do most of the work on my cars myself, unless it requires some special equipment that I don't have. So, the OBDII scanner is an indispensable tool for me. There are much cheaper options and I have used a $20 USB adapter plugged into my laptop with OBDII software and that has been enough for my needs so far. I stayed away from such generic consumer grade OBDII readers as the ones I tried were very limited in supported code reads, unreliable and lacked real time graphs. Please note, I strongly advise against using various phone apps with BT adapters as they provide very limited and unreliable information. But having a laptop with you all the time when you need to pull out a code is cumbersome and not at all practical, so I decided to give the all-in-one OBDII scanner another try, especially this one, which has an impressive list of features. I just tried this on my Subaru WRX and Porsche Boxster. It didn't recognize cars and VINs automatically, but once I manually entered the VIN, the scanner did the rest of the setup and everything else was fine. The scanner itself is very well made. It has a durable plastic body that will withstand any heavy use (or abuse). On both left and right side there are two rubberized grips for better one-hand handling while you use another hand to press on controls. Best of all, it has a large touch screen that is easy to operate with mechanic's gloves on. The LCD is a 5.5-inch color screen that is easy to read even under bright sunlight. It has a long cable to connect to the car's OBDII port and then run it all the way to the engine bay so you can run the scanner diagnostics while you're working on the engine. Working with the scanner is quite simple and intuitive, it basically shows you what to do and when. When you read codes and find errors, it gives you a description and explanation of the code and, most importantly, gives you the possible cause of these codes. The scanner will tell you when you need to turn the ignition on or off to read the codes. Although this is not so important for me, it is especially useful for a beginner who knows little about cars and their repair. This scanner has the ability to scan error codes and reset codes! What matters most to me is that it also has live data, which means I don't need my bulky laptop to read live data. In addition, it can print scan results when connected to a PC with a printer. It also has 4 service functions - ABS / SRS, gearbox, airbag, engine check. On top of all that, it can even run an I/M readiness test to determine if your vehicle passes the smoke check test or not, an amazing feature! *** Bottom line *** Overall, this is a great OBDII scanner for the price and I recommend this OBDII scanner if you're doing your own car repair, it's a must have tool in your garage. If you just want to check error codes and take the car to a mechanic, then a cheaper option might be your best bet. If you are an avid auto mechanic and/or a professional auto repairman, you may want to invest in a higher end model (like NT716 or NT724 models) that can perform full vehicle maintenance. For me personally, this model is perfect. Pros: 1) Very well made, durable case. 2) Fairly easy to use with a large LCD display. 3) Has touch-screen controls! 4) Supports many car brands and models. 5) Can read a lot of OBDII information. 6) Supports real-time data reading! 7) Gives a detailed description and explanation of the codes. 8) Supports 4 most commonly used service functions. 9) Free firmware updates for life! One of the best things about this diagnostic device is how it uses wifi to make and report live updates about a car and its system issues. These diagnostic devices are super useful if you have car troubles consistently or are confused about which symbols mean certain things. When you can have the information transmitted to you wirelessly, that makes things 100 times easier. You can connect this to your Google account online and store all of the information in a file. Additionally, it can give you live updates if you leave if connected and are away from your car–I’ve even set up notifications for new discoveries. The screen is rather big– a lot of these diagnostic tests can be held in one hand but this one is definitely bigger and requires you to hold it with both hands– there are pros and cons to this design. The cons are that it takes up more space in a center console or glove box if you plan on storing it there. The pros are that the screen is bigger and can tell you more comprehensive information than just a warning symbol or short description of a larger problem. The touch screen is nice because it is easier to intuit these days and the menu display is easy to read. Overall, this is a great scanner for almost any car. I’ve used this in both a Toyota Tundra and a Prius and it works perfectly fine. The scan is fast and adaptive, and the wifi feature is rare to find in a device like this.
